Before we could brace ourselves, Apple dropped something huge. The Apple Vision Pro is the brand’s first spatial computer. One of the biggest YouTubers shared the unboxing of the $3500 piece of tech, leaving Kevin Garnett reeling. It’s not usually easy to blow away The Big Ticket. But Apple successfully did.

It’s here… we in it… the future is finally here…say goodbye to the old ways…” KG wrote on his Instagram Stories where he shared Marques Brownlee’s unboxing Reel. How much of that statement is genuine awe and how much is sarcasm, you decide.

The spatial computing experience that has Garnett stunned is the newest launch in the tech space. It’s been called everything from a wearable iPad to a computer in a VR. The box, as revealed by Brownlee, comes with a VR headset that apparently lays out your usual iOS apps like a visual landscape before your eyes.

If Garnett is intrigued enough to invest $3,499 in the Apple Vision Pro, we’d have to wait and see. He’s, however, not very averse to technology and how it shapes our future.

KG’s big into the media landscape in his post-NBA career. It’s not limited to shows like KG Certified. In 2021, he launched a media startup, Gaming Society. His company aimed to rely on technology to make sports more immersive for fans with sports content, games, betting, and interactive experiences. Gaming Society ceased operations at the end of 2023.

Startups and real estate have reportedly been a big draw for Garnett’s investment interests. But basketball remains his primary interest. Through his investing arm, Big Ticket Sports, he is working on launching STR33T, a 3×3 basketball street league, sometime in 2024. The tournament allows men and women basketball athletes to compete in a high-stakes competition.

While Big Ticket fans anticipate the official launch of STR33T, there’s another future job that KG might take. Reports claim that after MLB great Alex Rodriguez becomes the new owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves, he might bring Garnett back to the organization in a front-office role. While he started his career with the Wolves, his relationship with the current owner, Glen Taylor, soured over the years.

Garnett has not allowed the franchise to retire his number. And he’s claimed he’d not return to the team while Taylor was in charge. But with the changes coming – to paraphrase Garnett – a future containing Kevin Garnett with the Wolves might be here.
