Under Armour has been the uniform provider for Auburn University for years. This was the first University, the brand was able to make a deal with in 2005.

The initial contract with Auburn came to a close in 2011, but a new agreement was inked in 2015. Although the current deal is slated to conclude in 2025, the exclusive negotiation period for both parties terminated on September 1. Subsequently, there have been speculations circulating about the University potentially entering into agreements with other brands, including Adidas. Amidst the rumors, Sir Charles gave advice. He shared, “The only thing I’ve got to do, I’ve gotta get my Auburn Tigers into Nike gear, and get out of that Under Armor stuff,”?

This occurred prior to the end of the negotiation period. In an interview conducted in April 2023, the former Philadelphia 76ers star publicly expressed his wish for Auburn to sign with Nike. The player seems to have faith in the $146. 71 billion brand which has a close association with his friend-turned-foe, Jordan.

He has consistently demonstrated significant support for Nike. Furthermore, the legend contributed a generous amount from his will to the University. Following the rule that declared no race can be used as a criterion for college admissions, Barkley made a big announcement.
