Did Sebastian Telfair cross the line by exposing Kobe Bryant's alleged affairs out of jealousy?

I’ll be the bad guy, I’ll be the one. Like, what Shorty saying next to us ain’t it,” said Sebastian Telfair, on failed NBA marriages. He claimed that 9 out of 10 NBA players get divorced, even bringing up the names of Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal. It was when he was interviewed by DJ Vlad that the former point guard expressed this controversial opinion.

Appearing on the DJ Vlad YouTube channel, Telfair said, “Kobe (Bryant) had them chicks though.” Even though for a millisecond, he thought of not speaking about it, he went ahead by saying, “Vanessa ain’t watching this.”

Upon hearing this, one of the former teammates of the Lakers legend took a stand for Kobe. Kwame Brown criticized Sebastian Telfair but did not spare DJ Vlad either and launched a scintillating rant. “And DJ Vlad you Baldhead weasel, you ain’t out of this. Why is you paying other black men to come up there and talk about deceased black men?” Brown asked on his Bust Life YouTube channel.

Before speaking about DJ Vlad though, Brown addressed Telfair’s comments and hinted at the reason why this story was brought up. “First of all, you don’t violate the man code by talking about what a deceased man was allegedly doing while he was alive,” the #1 overall pick of the 2001 draft said.

According to Brown, the only reason why Sebastian Telfair spoke about it was because he was jealous. “He was jealous, a friend was jealous, somebody was jealous because why else would you be speaking on this sh**,” Brown couldn’t find any other reason for Telfair to bring up old stories involving Kobe Bryant, especially a story of him allegedly having affairs.

Not only Brown, a former NBA champion was also not pleased with Telfair’s comments.

Stephen Jackson had a word of caution for retired athletes or players who could not reach their potential. “Hey man, to all the athletes that might go through hard times, that their career don’t go the way they want to go, just don’t be Sebastian Telfair. Okay? Don’t be him,” the 46-year-old, who won the NBA championship with San Antonio Spurs in 2003, said.

Jackson further highlighted the attention-seeking behavior from Telfair and called it crazy. Questioning Telfair’s motive behind revealing the story, he wondered what the former point guard even gained from it. “Like that’s the weakest s**t in the world to even mention the dead about what’s like, that’s crazy, bro,” Jackson added.

On DJ Vlad’s YouTube channel, one would find multiple videos of people talking about Kobe Bryant. But most of the stories are positive stories. However, this one story had a negative tinge to it, and Kwame Brown and Stephen Jackson didn’t like it at all.
