If Michael Jordan’s 56,000-square-foot Chicago mansion ever had you wondering what luxury looks like, you’ll have to look out for his next property-related splurge. The NBA icon might be upping the ante with something far more extravagant—and mysterious. Whispers about a massive new estate first made the rounds last December, and now they’ve crept back into the spotlight. The only twist? They’ve resurfaced while Jordan is tangled in high-stakes drama with his NASCAR team, 23XI Racing.

The update regarding the mystery home popped up through TC Palm, buried in an article titled 2025 Forbes billionaires with Florida ties include Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan. And if you know MJ, you probably know about Grove XXIII, his ultra-private golf club tucked away in Hobe Sound. But what most people don’t know is this—just three miles down the road, something enormous is quietly being built.

How enormous? Try 125,000 square feet. According to the report by TC Palm, construction is underway at 2575 S.E. Bridge Road, a site nestled between Atlantic Fields and the Becker Tree Farm. The builder? Jupiter Wheels, a company run by Michael Jordan’s financial adviser, the same person who oversees all of his business ventures. Sounds like more than just a casual project!

Despite the early buzz, however, updates on this mega-mansion have been few and far between. And maybe, just maybe, Jordan has bigger things on his plate right now. According to The New York Times, his 23XI Racing is knee-deep in an antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR, and is now turning up the pressure on Formula One.

Jordan co-owns 23XI with NASCAR star Denny Hamlin, and their team, alongside Front Row Motorsports, is challenging the league’s franchise-like “charter agreements.” In a bold legal move, they’ve asked a federal court in Colorado to force Liberty Media, F1’s parent company, to hand over key financial documents, including the closely guarded Concorde Agreement that governs the sport.

When The Athletic reached out, Liberty Media and F1 teams kept quiet. But the case does not seem to be slowing down. On top of that, 23XI and Front Row are also digging into the business models of the NFL, NBA, and NHL, seeking similar financial data to compare their revenue potential under different systems. So while Jordan’s mansion might be growing behind closed gates, his off-track battle is unfolding in full public view.

A closer look at some other real estate investments by Michael Jordan

When people talk about MJ’s real estate empire, one address usually jumps out first—the massive 56,000-square-foot mansion he built in Chicago. Spread across seven acres, it was the kind of property that turned heads, fitting for someone known as His Airness. But after sitting on the market for years, the Chicago Bulls legend finally sold it in December 2024. The price? $9.5 million—a steep drop from the original $29 million listing. That said, Jordan’s property game is far from over.

In fact, some of his most impressive real estate holdings are still in his hands, especially in his home state of North Carolina. One standout is his primary residence in Cornelius. Located right on the Peninsula Golf Course, the house offers water views on three sides, six bedrooms, 12,300 square feet of space, and even a private pier. From the spiraling exterior staircase to the serene lake access, it’s easy to picture Jordan enjoying his downtime here.

Then there’s his sleek condo on N. Tryon Street in Charlotte. Perched on the seventh floor of the Trust Condos, this nearly 70,000-square-foot space blends Japanese-inspired design with modernist flair. With panoramic views, a party-ready terrace, and a stylish outdoor kitchen, it’s built for luxury and leisure.

And if the reports are true, Michael Jordan might also be holding onto a holiday home in Park City, Utah, and another spot in The Bears Club, Jupiter, Florida. While these investments are impressive, a 56,000 square ft mystery home is for sure far more intriguing. All fans have to do is probably wait for the NASCAR drama to be wrapped up for further details on the said mystery house.
