Michael Jordan is always a name to look out for in the auctions, because looking at the history of his million-dollar salesit’s safe to say fans are still crazy about him. Game-worn jerseys, game-worn shoes, signed products, and whatnot. It’s truly a treat for anyone who is a fan of the Chicago Bulls legend. Goldin Auctions, the host of the Goldin 100, will hold their second annual edition this year, which is set to put some of the rarest and most valuable products for sale. Michael Jordan’s memorabilia will also feature in this edition, which is expected to be sold for $3 million more than its value. What is it, though?

Collecting cards of NBA athletes used to be a hobby in the late 90s. Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, etc. are a few basketball icons who featured in fancy cards. It’s time to revisit those days as Goldin Auction has confirmed that a rare Michael Jordan card will be featured in the auction this year. But there’s a small twist.

This one-of-a-kind memorabilia is signed by Jordan himself. This card is from the 2003 Ultimate collection, and it is valued at a whopping $2 million by Goldin Auctions. However, the CEO and the founder, Ken Goldin, believes this card has the potential to add a few more millions to its value. Ken Goldin shared, “It probably will sell for between $3 million and $5 million… I think [it’s] the best-ever Michael Jordan card.”

Considering Goldin’s prediction, there is a high chance that this card might break a record in the auction history.

Can the 2003 collection card cross $2.7 million?

In 2021, Goldin Auctions completed the sale of one of the most expensive Jordan cards ever. The 1997-98 Upper Deck Game Jersey game-worn patch card, signed by the 6x NBA champion, was sold for $2.7 million. The previous record for the most expensive sale of a card was $2.1 million, which was also another Jordan card. According to ESPN, The $2.7 million Jordan card is graded an 8 Near Mint-Mint from Beckett Grading Services (BGS).”

Three years later now, Goldin Auctions has a shot at recreating history. Any price of more than $2.7 million will be a record sale for a Jordan card according to reports. Ken Goldin is confident it will be sold for a minimum of $3 million. So let’s wait and watch if the 2003 signed Jordan card can change the benchmark once again.
