Shaquille O’Neal had the rapper, DaBaby, on The Big Podcast. During the podcast, the two spoke about the Big Three rap beef and how he first got into rap. But more importantly, they deeply discussed the harsh side of current social media and the prevalent cancel culture. And Shaq believes his vocabulary is different than others, and he might get into trouble.
The Los Angeles Lakers legend points at his white co-host (Adam Lefkoe) and says we are not the same, speaking on racial differences. Calling to check where the rulebook of cancellation culture is to really understand the problem.
Shaquille O’Neal said, “cuz no offense to you (Adam Lefkoe), our language (pointing at DaBaby and himself) is different than our language (pointing at Lefkoe and himself). ” The 52-year-old said that during his childhood days, there were words that were not meant to be demeaning and that now people tend to jump to conclusions without understanding the context behind the situation.

He added, “like I used to say a lot of those words that you supposed can’t say now and they were not deemed as derogatory then. But now if you say certain words then like like the cancel culture comes in.”

Shaquille O’Neal revealed that he reached out to DaBaby since he already knew about his strong character, also advised him that a certain level of popularity will make other people jealous, and that’s not in his control. Also speaking about how when the jealousy factor kicks in, people will only look to pull others down.
Yet he knows DaBaby will always rise up and tell him, “I’m definitely happy for you.” DaBaby appreciated that Shaq took the time to reach out to him. And the rapper had some words regarding cancel culture after hearing Shaq’s advice.

What was DaBaby’s reply to Shaquille O’Neal’s advice?
It took some time for the Cleveland-born superstar to resonate with him through and through. But he believes, culture or not, that he will raise his voice when things are taken out of context. The 32-year-old told Shaquille O’Neal that now he has no problems publicly accepting his flaws. “ So it was kind of that’s what I struggled with early on.”
Since DaBaby is an international household name, he understands how easily he could be misconstrued. “You know certain things I can’t say publicly like it can travel a different way it can be received a different way you know what I mean.”

But now he is mature and understands the difference. And thanks to Shaquille O’Neal for telling him. “Bro relax don’t respond, this too but shall pass .”
