LeBron James holds a lot of power in the NBA. But does he use his influence to help his friends? When the Los Angeles Lakers signed Tristan Thompson at the end of the 2023 season, it was a question that was often brought up. Months later, LeBron’s pull in the NBA was brought into question once again, but this time by his former teammate, Richard Jefferson.
While reacting to a video of recent revelations, Richard Jefferson made fans and the Cavaliers legend cackle after he brought up the influence of 67-year-old Kris Jenner and LeBron James in the NBA.

Tristan Thompson has signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the upcoming season. But back in the 2022–2023 season, he spent the majority of the year looking for a team. Tristan Thompson eventually came in as an analyst for ESPN’s NBA Today early in January.
During a recent episode of ‘The Kardashians’, Kris Jenner revealed that it was she who pulled the strings for Thompson to get a role as an analyst on ESPN. Thompson then complimented Kris Jenner for being a master at negotiating.
Richard Jefferson reacted to this video and posted it on Instagram. He wrote, “Kris, I told you I would take care of him.“
He then captioned the post, “Who has more power @kingjames or @krisjenner 😂😂😂 ps… must be nice @realtristan13“. It looks like Jefferson is a bit jealous of the favors people are willing to do for Thompson.

LeBron James saw the video and could not contain his laughter. He commented, “🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣” (laughing emoji)
It’s hard to believe that the Lakers did not ask LeBron before adding Thompson to the team, so it’s pretty certain that he is liked by everyone, as people are willing to help Thompson.

Richard Jefferson and Tristan Thompson know what it is like to overcome adversity. They were on the championship team with LeBron James in 2016 and came back from a 3-1 deficit against a 73-9 Warriors team. All three are good friends with each other. This has even led to them making fun of each other in a friendly manner over the years.
After getting eliminated by the Nuggets, Thompson was invited back to the show by Richard Jefferson. During the show, Jefferson said, “Success and failure are tied together. Failure can be as much of a lesson, so we’re here with someone that failed against Jokic and guarding him.”
Richard Jefferson went as far as calling Tristan a failure live on TV a few weeks after he lost in the NBA playoffs. After the Lakers brought Tristan onto the team before the playoffs, he was supposed to be a backup for Anthony Davis. But when they ran into the Denver Nuggets, the team had no answer for Nikola Jokic.
