Udonis Haslem has earned quite a name for his community engagement and philanthropic work. And a recent event held by Health & Wellness Sanctuary named The Anatomy helped him work towards both things recently. The Anatomy held its annual hour push-up challenge to support the Udonis Haslem Foundation (UHF) and Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. And the ex-Miami Heat star too extended his help to get a positive result from the event.
“The Anatomy 7th Annual #HourPushupChallenge was a huge success! This year we raised over $170,000 benefitting @makeawishsfla & @udonishaslemfoundation! Huge thank you to @ud40 for hosting and everyone who participated & donated to these great causes!” the Anatomy posted on its official Instagram account.

Meanwhile, the official website of the UHF also posted an update on the event in its stories section. As per the website, Haslem participated in the challenge along with his 5-member team named ‘TEAM UD’. “That group raised money and did push-ups together in hopes to complete 2,000 push-ups in an hour with the goal of each push up being worth a minimum of $30 per push up,” stated the story.
Notably, former NFL star Marc Megna and Miami Heat Duncan Robinson were also present at the event. The amount raised from the event will benefit both UHF and Make-A-Wish Southern Florida.

Udonis Haslem’s active involvement in the community work
It is worth mentioning that this is the second community-related event attended by Haslem in a month’s span. Earlier this month, Haslem was also a part of a fund-raiser event hosted by ex-Miami Heat icon Alonzo Mourning. The event celebrated the occasion of Overtown Youth Center (OYC) Miami, completing two decades.
As per the official website, OYC is a community development organization. And the organization provides a set of comprehensive programs and services for youth, adults and families in the community. This includes educational, health and wellness, social, financial, and career programs.

Apart from this, Haslem’s own foundation, along with a virtual robotics coding and curriculum competition platform named Riders.ai awarded scholarships to 250 students in 10 local Miami high schools. The move came as an attempt to expand robotics, coding, and STEM skills among the students.
“With the help of the Udonis Haslem Foundation, we are able to add 25 additional licenses to each of these 10 schools… Because of the Udonis Haslem Foundation, we can give so many students the ability to not only learn robotics, but have fun doing it,” the U.S. director of operations for Riders.ai said. This continuous involvement in the community issues proves that Udonis Haslem is more than just a namesake philanthropist.
