Kenny Smith is a 2x NBA Champion. His eldest son, KJ, did not have the same hooping career but is an NBA Certified Agent. His recent notable clients have been Caleb Wilson, who committed to UNC on the Inside the NBA segment. Not to forget, the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, AJ Dybantsa is heading to BYU. But the youngest athlete in the Smith household is Malloy, who is on an upward trajectory in his basketball career.
The 16-year-old has been a constant figure in summer camps and is currently part of the Mater Dei Varsity Boys Basketball team. It was before the matchup against Crean Lutheran, which Kenny Smith’s son’s team won by 11 points. The Rockets legend highlighted the proud father feeling as he shared the tickets for the game, which had Malloy’s photo printed on them.
Just like his father, even the youngest son of the Smith clan plays as a guard. A previous Southside Hoops report showcased the California native. “2026 Melloy Smith is a 6’6 PG who is always under control and on balance. Frequently creates driving angles to attack the basket, doesn’t get rushed, athletic, and uses length well on the defensive end.” It was back in August last year that Kenny Smith’s son shared his excitement over joining the program.
