James Harden forced his way out of Philadelphia 76ers and is now a part of the Los Angeles Clippers. Following his departure from the team, Harden made a few statements about how he was held back as a player when he was in Philadelphia. He is now hoping to change that as he is gearing up for the Clippers.

Unfortunately, Harden’s time with the new team has not given any good results so far, but the comments he gave have been picked up by everyone, and they are now viral. Recently, 7x champion Robert Horry gave his thoughts on what James Harden said.

During a recent episode of the Big Shot Bob podcast, Robert Horry answered questions submitted by fans. One that stood out was the comment that was recently made by James Harden.

Harden recently, in his introductory press conference, said that he was on a leash in Philadelphia. But what he said after that has made people question his motivation. Harden said, “I am not a system player, I am a system“.

Horry was asked what he thought of these comments. Horry said, “Any time as a player, you’re gonna be in a system. D’Antoni probably put the system around him (Harden) and that’s what he was used to.”

Horry further added, “He got two guys on the team arguably better than he is. So he has to learn how to play in a system. And I think that’s gonna be his downfall if that’s his mindset going in, that I am a system…It ain’t like that anymore. You are not the only superstar on the team“.

So when Harden is on a team with other superstars, he has to play in a system. Horry feared that if he is not willing to do it, then it will lead to great trouble. Although Harden has been playing with other superstars for the past couple of years, he is still struggling with his new team.

The aftermath of the James Harden trade

The Harden trade has not given out good results for the Clippers so far. They have lost three in a row after trading for James Harden. Yesterday, they lost to the Dallas Mavericks by 18 points, although they were leading by 12 in the first quarter.

The 76ers, on the other hand, have not lost their momentum. They have now won seven in a row. With the new pieces that they have received from the Harden trade, the team now has depth and veteran players who are contributing to the team’s cause.
