Challenges and issues aside, Dwyane Wade seemed to enjoy his first experience at commentary for NBC. Meanwhile, his partner at the commentary desk, Noah Eagle, emerged as one with the potential for the job. The whole pronoun controversy being an exception, fans initially showered Wade with love and support at his new venture. Additionally, the former Miami Heat star could not have asked for a better platform to make his debut at calling games. And it seems yet another former NBA star wants a share of this experience at the big event.
Jamal Crawford first praised Dwayne Wade and Noah Eagle for their job at the Olympics. “Since it sees like they have different groups, I would love to be in the mix to call games in LA in ‘28… Speaking it into existence!!!!” he added.
The former NBA star’s desire may not be an unrealistic one. NBC, who also has US media rights to the Olympics till 2032, is among the three networks to strike a broadcasting rights deal with the NBA. Now, ESPN may already have the necessary framework, but NBC and Amazon could be looking to start things from scratch.

D.Wade and Noah Eagle we’re fire all Olympics! Since it sees like they have different groups, I would love to be in the mix to call games in LA in ‘28.
Speaking it into existence!!!! 🙏🏾— 🏁 Jamal Crawford (@JCrossover) August 10, 2024
Dwyane Wade is one option who could now get into a more permanent role with NBC. Meanwhile, Crawford could be another viable option, alongside the 3x NBA champ. The former LA Clippers star has had some experience in broadcasting. In fact, he was the one to replace Wade in the NBA on TNT. However, it’s not as if the move on the network’s part created any friction between the two former NBA stars.
If anything, Wade was only appreciative of his replacement on the network. “It’s not my position. JC will be himself… His basketball knowledge is thru the roof. I can’t wait to hear his perspective and insights on the game we all love!” he wrote in a tweet, per SI. Given the mutual respect, and the knowledge of the game both stars carry, it may as well be an interesting partnership to watch in the 2028 Olympics.

How was Dwyane Wade and Noah Eagle’s run at the 2024 Paris Olympics?
As mentioned earlier, the duo had a great start to the event but hit some bumps midway. Fans initially dig D-Wade’s energy, and in-depth analysis in one instance for Victor Wembanyama. However, a tweet related to Wade’s use of pronouns and yet another one highlighting Noah Lyles’ nail paint landed him in some controversy. Apart from this, the 3x NBA champ accepted having some issues while calling the games. One of the minor ones, as admitted by him—addressing Team USA as “we” during the commentary.
However, the final game between Team USA and France seemed to end well for the NBC’s two commentators, especially for Eagle. The 27-year-old sportscaster had some impressive moments, as he called the last game. “Ooooooh! It’s a golden dagger! Curry! Unconscious in the fourth!… Eight threes for Curry! He has sent the French crowd into a frenzy they will never forget!” — one of Eagle’s highlight moments from the game.

The former Heat star also tried his best, but Eagle seemed to have a greater impact. In fact, the 27-year-old may as well have secured some spots for himself in the upcoming broadcasting events. But will we be able to see Jamal Crawford and Dwyane Wade doing the same alongside each other? Only time can tell.
