Zion Williamson‘s viral dunk has got the social media buzzing again. Despite the Pelicans suffering a disappointing defeat against the Pistons, the team had one highlight to boast about. Garnering attention, Williamson delivered a thunderous dunk over none other than Isaiah Stewart. However, before the Pelicans could celebrate, trade rumors surrounded Williamson once again. Amidst all the speculations, a former NBA player attempted to explain the star’s struggles.

In a recent segment of The OGs podcast, former NBA player and current assistant coach for the New Orleans Pelicans, Corey Brewer, joined as a guest. When host Mike Miller asked the veteran about Williamson’s struggles and his health, Brewer noted, “He’s balling and I think for him he was a kid. He had to grow up for sure. He’s growing up. He’s figuring out what it takes to be a pro and that’s everybody.”

Drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans as the first overall pick, Zion is a dominant player. His skills still remain impressive. However, the issue has been his weight which constantly posed trouble. He is often criticized by the NBA experts over his weight.

Brewer added, “I feel like they wanted him to be something so quick it was a little tough on a kid. A lot of pressure number one pick it’s a lot of pressure on him but now I think he’s learned he been (in the league) long enough now he knows this is what I have to do. I’m taking care of my body. I’m doing the right things and he wants to be great. So he’s gonna be great.”

Brewer is right about Zion’s performance. In the past few weeks, Williamson has elevated his game. The team has faced tough challenges with injuries and setbacks this season. Key players have consistently stepped up, leading to noticeable improvements. Rookie Yves Missi too has shown why he could be a crucial player for the team’s future. However, once again, trade rumors have surrounded Williamson.
