The Los Angeles Lakers avoided a series sweep this time after LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and D’Angelo Russell decided to secure their home court in Game 4. A lot of offensive changes helped them to turn the game around this time, but Boston Celtics icon Paul Pierce was not satisfied with what he saw. Moreover, the 2008 NBA champion took a subtle jab at the Lakers, to give them a harsh reality check.

The Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets, 119-108, and finally, a ray of hope has shined on the LA unit. They are now trailing 1-3 in the series, and Pierce believes this is the final win that the Lakers will be getting in the first round. He shared on Twitter, “Pride game fa, The Lakes this over in 5.Pierce believes the Lakers have no chance to win Game 5 for one main reason.

He added another tweet, “Good news is Lakes win, bad news they gotta fly to Denver to end series.Pierce has often criticized the Lakers for their underwhelming performance this season. Even though James had 30 points, and AD had 25 points, Pierce did not want to credit that. He rather went on to give them a reality check.

The Nuggets were missing open looks in the second half. The shots were not falling in and the Lakers showed a drastic improvement in the defense. Despite all this, Pierce does not see any scope in them. This was the case after Game 3 too.

Paul Pierce took a jab at the Lakers stars’ talent before game 4

Like many, Pierce also predicted a sweep. Before that, he had a few harsh words to say. He shared on his ESPN Undisputed, “It’s all you can do with the talent that you got, and they’re just not as talented as the Denver Nuggets…This is just what I said before the playoffs started. This is a bad matchup for the Lakers.” He also called out D’Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura for not rising up in these crucial times.

Finally, he brought out a broom on live TV, to mock LeBron James and Co. Charles Barkley also did the same on Inside the NBA. However, the Lakers have avoided that embarrassment with a promising performance in Game 4. The LA unit’s only way to take revenge is to win the next three games. No team in NBA history has won a series after trailing 0-3. Anyhow, James is not new to making history. Although the margin for it is very low, we’ll see what happens in game 5.
