Shaquille O’Neal played for six different teams during his 19-year NBA career. The 4-time champion was also a controversial teammate at times. His conflict with the late Kobe Bryant was well known. But did you know there were Shaq-troubles in Boston as well? The 7-foot legend played his last year in the NBA for the Boston Celtics, alongside two legends from the 2008 championship run.

The Celtics duo, who have taken over YouTube lately with their podcast episodes, decided to speak on their time with Shaq during the 2010-11 season. Notably, Paul Pierce had a lot of love for Big Diesel, except when it came to one thing that annoyed him the most.

The 2000 NBA MVP has been a part of several blockbuster trades. From the Magic to Los Angeles and then from the Lakers to the Heat top the charts, of course. The most unexpected one though, was his trade from the Cavaliers to the Boston Celtics. Retirement was not far away for the 7-foot legend in 2009. Though he was expected to retire with the Cavs, he later joined the Celtics. And in typical Shaq fashion, even in his last year in the NBA, O’Neal spelled trouble for veterans like Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.

On the Big Ticket‘s podcast, ‘KG Verified’, Pierce shared, “I love Shaq, I love Shaq as a teammate. But the only thing I didn’t like about Shaq was when I was on the bench and he sitting on the bench, he taking up like three seats.”

KG couldn’t control his laughter as Pierce continued, “When he sat on the bench, he going to like have two pads, so he’s sitting high and then his legs going to be open.”

The best part was Pierce was imitating Shaq’s huge figure which had the fans in the comments section weak. Seeing that, KG wanted to share some of his frustration too!

Kevin Garnett continues Paul Pierce’s Shaq rant

It must be really annoying when a 7’1, 325lbs dude takes over the entire bench. It’s good that Shaq’s coaches spent most of their time standing.

Shaq was not a problem for just KG and Pierce but for the entire team. Garnett wanted to highlight how it is to sit with the 2000 MVP on the bench.

Garnett revealed, “You know what’s crazy cuz we’re watching the game and you’re in the game and you don’t even you’re smashed…Diesel[Shaq] is way too big to be reacted”.

KG and Pierce highlighted a picture of Shaq sitting on the bench alongside Kendrick Perkins, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo. Looking at the picture, Pierce went, “There’s a seat in between on both sides!”
