NBA legend Pau Gasol was out on a cute date with his wife, Catherine McDonnell. The couple, who named their daughter after Kobe Bryant’s daughter Gigi, are all set to welcome their third child soon. No wonder they have been busy. However, they made time to enjoy date night at the Bay FC soccer game on Friday. With a “new rookie” on the way, Catherine revealed a unique challenge for the parents.

Catherine shared a selfie of the two from the game night on Instagram. Gasol made a point to attend the Bay FC home game earlier this year, where former NBA player Andre Iguodala was also present. It seems game nights are the ideal date spot for athletes to enjoy with their loved ones. “Had a blast at date night last weekend @paugasol at @wearbayfc,” Gasol’s wife wrote in her Instagram post, along with a football and heart emoji. Her next story was dedicated to their soon-to-arrive baby

“Poor third kid never gets bump pics $thirdchildproblems already,” Catherine wrote in another Story, humorously noting how their third child almost never gets baby bump pics. In the image, Catherine is seen warmly holding her stomach to show her baby bump. In her black dress, her baby bump is almost hard to spot. While they seemed to have enjoyed their date night, it was a disappointing night for the team they were supporting.

Bay FC lost 1-0 to Orlando Pride, as their chances of making the Playoffs look slimmer by the day. Nevertheless, Pau and Cat can only be excited about their future. Just a few days ago, the couple shared an image to announce that they are expecting their third child.

The couple shared an image of all the Gasol family members posing together, with their first two kids sitting alongside their parents. In the picture, the Gasol siblings proudly flaunted their “big brother” and “big sister” claims on their T-shirts. 

Pau Gasol honored Kobe Bryant’s daughter with a heartwarming tribute

“New Rookie signing Gasol starting 5, coming this fall 2024 season. 🧔🏻‍♂️👩🏼👧🏻👦🏼👶🏻,” Catherine wrote in the caption of the post. The couple has two children. Their first child, Elisabet Gianna Gasol, and their second child, Max. As you can see, Elisabet’s middle name is a tribute to Gianna Bryant, who tragically passed away alongside her father, NBA legend and Pau’s former teammate Kobe Bryant. Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, is Elisabet’s godmother.

Elisabet was born in September the same year the basketball world lost Bryant and a future rising star. In December 2022, the couple welcomed Max. When asked about his kids, the Los Angeles Lakers legend said, “We’ll see what number it ends up being, so one at a time, because you don’t realize the amount of work and dedication that a kid requires until you actually have it.”

The Hall of Famer will soon be a father of three, while also being a loving uncle to his friend Bryant’s daughters.
