Pau Gasol, a former professional NBA player, was acknowledged for his amazing service and dedication to the community at the Angel City Sports Disability Sports and Fitness Awards this year. On Instagram, he posted, “What a great privilege to be honored as the 2024 Community Impact at the @angelcitysports Annual Gala. Thank you so much for making me a part of such an amazing night. It was very special and emotional to receive this award from the hands of @ezrafrech! I’m so proud of the young man he has become and the work that he’s doing!“

The post gave a little peek into Gasol’s unhurried performance that night. The lecture, the memory of him being at the “amazing” event, and the goosebumps associated when the 2024 Community Impact Award was announced, were recalled. Gasol’s award was very important to him as he was honored by no other than Ezra Frech, who is an American Paralympic athlete and a disability advocate. He is responsible for the idealistic work that Gasol did as he expected him to do great things when he was growing up.
