Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson has kept himself busy in the last few months. Making an impressive feat in football, the 5-time champion has now added an NFL team to his well-known business resume. With a massive net worth of $620 million, Johnson has made it clear he “invests only to win”. His run as an entrepreneur after retirement is appreciable. That is exactly what a $120 million rapper decided to do. Flexing the ‘majestic’ gift he received, Johnson was on cloud nine. 

However at the same time, one of the gifts he received was never a part of his routine. In fact, Johnson did not encourage it at all during his basketball career too! Anyhow, the 64-year-old has used it to remind the fans about his NFL team. 

Magic Johnson promotes his NFL team with a gift he never used

The Washington Commanders is a team to look out for in the upcoming season. Apart from the potential stars the team has, they have managed to add Magic Johnson as one of their owners recently. Let’s not forget that Johnson has also invested in MLB, MLS, and the WNBA. 

Success as an owner is nothing new for Johnson. Ever since he joined the NFL ownership with a $6.05 billion deal, the 3-time MVP continues to promote it time and again when he gets an opportunity. Now, Johnson has used a gift he received from a famous rapper to do so. 

Johnson has close ties with a few people from the music industry. $120 million rich LL Cool J is one of them. The rapper took the time to gift Johnson a “majesty box”, which has a few cigars and jewelry. 

With a Commander T-shirt and photos of his inaugural with the team hanging in the back, Johnson decided to flex a gold chain with a goat hanging on it.

However, Johnson might not make great use of the cigar.

In an interview with NFL legend Shannon Sharpe, Johnson spoke about his time with the USA team alongside Michael Jordan. The Chicago Bulls icon is known for gambling, smoking cigars, and having drinks a day before the game. However, Johnson revealed he could never be like that.

The LA legend shared, “If I tried to do that[smoking and drinking], I’ll be 0 for 15, no assists, I’ll be dragging”. It is evident cigars have never been a part of his career. However Magic decided to accept it wholeheartedly!
