Oscars 2024: Everything You Need to Know About Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union’s Over $50,000 Luxurious Ensemble

At the 2024 Oscars Awards, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade were a sight to behold on the red carpet. Both of them will be named best dressed in their exquisite sparkling-silver Carolina Herrera and his Versace white tux with black flourishes.

This isn’t, however, the reason they’re generating headlines on the Oscars’ greatest night. This year marks Wade’s first Oscar nomination for Best Documentary Short, for his work on the film ‘The Barber of Little Rock’.

At this year’s Oscars, Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade were the pinnacles of a perfect pair, adorning the red carpet in the most charming and supporting manner imaginable.

The pair entered the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 10, in anticipation of the 96th Academy Awards. The actress looked beautiful in a silver minidress without straps that had a peplum-style skirt and a matched full-length skirt. The dress was from Carolina Herrera’s pre-fall 2024 line and cost $5990 to $8990.

She put her hair back in a high bun and wore a massive diamond necklace with a 33-carat aquamarine pendant and 328 baguette diamonds that added up to over 58 carats. She also wore Stuart Weitzman shoes and beautiful detailed diamond stud earrings from Tiffany & Co. that cost about $7800.

NBA star Dwyane Wade looked fantastic on the red carpet in a white tuxedo jacket with thick black lapels, a black bowtie, a Panthère de Cartier pocket gem worth $22,900, and black dress pants with a $5,000 Cartier Tank watch.

There was a group effort behind Wade’s Oscars outfit. The custom outfit was a Versace creation. Jason Bolden, who is famous for clothing Stephen Curry, Storm Reid, Michael B. Jordan, and others dressed Wade.

As his stunning wife flaunted her outfit on the red carpet, the sportsman stood aside and let her shine, cradling her hand. 

“Me and my wife always wanted to come to the Oscars, we wanted to have a reason to be here. And one of us has a project here, I’m the first one to bring us here,” Wade said with a smile while looking at Union. “I am so happy about that.” Record scratch! The reporter acknowledged his little, but playful, dig while he added, “No pressure, no pressure on my wife.”

The photographers captured the Bring it On alum straightening her husband’s bowtie. While in another lovely shot, the couple appeared engrossed in each other’s gaze. They were smiling lovingly at each other rather than the cameras. What a gorgeous couple!

Wade’s first Oscar-nominated movie

The movie, The Barber of Little Rock follows the life of Black community bank founder Arlo Washington. Arlo used his position as a barber to help combat economic inequality within his hometown of Little Rock. Wade served as an executive producer on the movie.

The Barber of Little Rock is a short documentary about the racial wealth disparity in America, and the team all came together to celebrate Wade’s nomination for executive producer. The movie follows Washington as he sees clients at People Trust and instructs them in barbershop techniques at his barbershop. 

It is a story of the community members’ resilience, individuality, and creativity in the face of the tremendous challenges they endure. Over 400 hours of footage were shot by the makers over a year.
