One of the most celebrated players of the NBA, Charles Barkley has moved mountains to get that reputation. As a 6’4 basketball player, his brilliance and talent contributed much to his illustrious career. Well, his off-court reputation has been very controversial. But if there’s one thing about him that everyone can agree on, it’s that he’s ruthlessly honest. Recently, the TNT analyst turned into an advisor for Zion Williamson.
The beginning of the 2022-23 season seemed propitious for the New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson. However, things didn’t go as he planned. And Chuck has some important advice for the player.

Given his unrivaled speed and strength, Zion is one of the intriguing names of the NBA. He averaged 26.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds in the 2022-23 season. But because of a hamstring injury, he could only play 29 games in the season.
Previously in 2019, Zion suffered from a right knee injury and underwent surgery. Again, he got seriously injured before the 2021-2022 season could begin.
Barkley, who has previously faced the same issue with his weight, gave important advice to the player whom he has never met. In a recent video, Barkley is seen advising Zion to lose weight. Sir Charles also shared his own experience of weight loss. He says he’s grateful to the Hall of Famer Moses Malone, who advised him to get in shape and made him lose 50 pounds. Barkley even urged the 284lb All-Star to get in shape and claim his position on the basketball floor.
In the clip, Barkley said, “You got to get in shape because you are going to keep getting hurt if you’re out of shape,” Barkley said. “I’ve seen dozens of guys eat their way out of the NBA. It can happen quickly because once you start getting hurt, you are going to keep getting hurt.”
Back in 1991, Barkley showed support to his friend Magic Johnson, when he retired from basketball.
