Before the beginning of the new season, Andre Iguodala decided to hang up his boots. After spending nearly 19 years in the league, the Golden State Warriors veteran announced his retirement. While most athletes look forward to a retirement life, at least a short stint at it, Iguodala has quickly shifted to a new role.

The 39-year-old is a seasoned entrepreneur. He has invested in tech companies, startups, sports franchises, and more. With plans to do even bigger things in the future, Iguodala wants to completely change the fan experience in live events.

Athletes transitioning into full-fledged businessmen is not a new concept in the NBA. Several of our veterans are now bonafide entrepreneurs and have made their mark in this field as well. From Shaquille O’Neal to Michael Jordan, the list boasts some legendary names. Although Iguodala has been an investor for a long time, post-retirement, he surely will have more time to dedicate to his projects. Right before his retirement, several business journalists detailed the number of projects the 29-year-old has in his pipeline. The list includes Zoom, Coinbase, Cloudflare, and several other companies.

Recently, the former Warrior made an appearance on CNBC where he discussed some of his plans for the future. When asked about what companies have surprised him the most and are exciting for him to work with, he laid out a few names. Iguodala said “We’ve got a company like Vessel. We think it’s gonna be a real disruptor in real estate.” The 4x NBA champion also has his eyes set on the sports industry. He said that with companies like Jump and A1, his plan is to completely transform the live event experience and NFL agency. Iguodala said, “Think of it as agency 2.0”.

The ex-Warrior said he has “really big plans” for the future which the people will get to know about in due time.
