Despite a relatively young NBA season, the intensity has been off the charts. That was fully evident in the scuffle between Draymond Green and Rudy Gobert. A situation that took on a life of its own, the chokehold scenario had everyone voicing their opinions. But, Green’s “apology” might bring even more attention to the matter. After earlier comments about “no regrets,” Charles Barkley had to chime in about his thoughts on the matter.

While he was adamant about not having regrets about the situation, Draymond Green had to issue an apology. But not to Gobert or anyone from the Minnesota Timberwolves locker room. Instead, his apology was for the rest of his teammates in the Warriors camp.

As Chris Haynes would report, “He doesn’t regret anything… but he said that was a situation where he had to apologize to his teammates.” Barkley wasn’t ready to take the news lightly. After previously calling an end to the Golden State dynasty, Chuck was ready to toot his own horn.

I told y’all. This team is cooked. Y’all thought I was crazy. They got away last year because Steph [Stephen Curry] went crazy in Game 7. Sacramento [Kings] should have beat them.” But, at some point, Chuck believes, even Curry is going to slow down.

Steph, to Candace’s [Parker] point, he’s going to start slowing down too. They got an old team. Everybody slows down…He’s not gonna be able to continue to do that. Because those other guys aren’t the same either. They’re older. This team is cooked.”

For the rest of the pieces, the Philadelphia 76ers legend did not mince any words. “Klay’s [Thompson] not the same guy. Draymond’s not the same guy…One thing I know about older people is they just get older. “

Despite Steph’s mercurial start to the year, the Chuckster has his reservations about Curry’s age for one reason. “When you start getting hurt, and he’s been hurt the last couple of years…That’s when you know age starts taking over.”

Unfortunately for fans in the Bay Area, this hasn’t been a case of the Barkley guarantees. Instead, his predictions have been wholly accurate. Even a returning Draymond Green could not change the outcome of this encounter.

Is Charles Barkley correct? Are the Warriors done?

Despite a heated rematch against the Sacramento Kings, Golden State could not overcome a furious SAC rally. While they built a huge lead, the youth of Sacramento against the Warriors’ tired legs became the tale of the story. As a result, even Curry made uncharacteristically crucial errors in the waning moments of the game.

In the end, the Kings were able to take the lead with barely 7 seconds left on the clock. The ensuing Steph heave wasn’t enough and the Kings pulled away with the victory. After being down by as much as 24, their furious rally might be yet another sign of the Dubs showing their age.

Is the Golden State Warriors dynasty over? Charles Barkley certainly thinks so.
