Pau Gasol has recently joined hands with a Real Madrid legend to enhance the quality of sports. The LA Lakers legend retired from the NBA in 2019. After that, he went to FC Barcelona for a short stint in 2021 and soon decided to hang up his boots forever. However, Gasol is in no mood to kick back and relax in his retirement years. Recently, the 43-year-old became part of a supergroup that will focus on improving the overall growth of sports.

He has been an advocate for several causes and has championed them over the years. Additionally, he is also a great brand ambassador for sports in general, worldwide.

Pau Gasol’s next mission

Gasol is often regarded as one of the best basketball players of all time. He joined the NBA in 2001 and went on to represent several franchises. However, Gasol’s most successful years were with the Lakers. Hoop fans know the impact that Gasol had alongside the late Kobe Bryant. However, he is much more than a great basketball player, largely due to his off-the-court work. Recently, he partnered with Iker Casillas to change the future of sports.

As per Revista Crowd, the alliance is backed by Gasol’s business arm called GameChangers3. The team is coming together to bring a monumental change for the overall well-being of the world of sports. The alliance announced that they will be working towards the betterment of sports, health, well-being, and nutrition for athletes. With an objective of changing lives with technology at the core of their principle, Gasol expressed his joy in taking this step. Pau Gasol is big on social commitment

The Spanish native has always been an active individual dedicated to several social causes. In 2003 he was announced as the ambassador of UNICEF. Apart from that, he started the Gasol Foundation in 2013 intending to bring awareness of health among common people. Gasol has also championed several causes to help bring equality in sports. In May 2018, Gasol wrote an open letter which was published in The Players Tribune. In that letter, he talked about and defended the role of women in sports, especially as coaches.
