The NBA today has evolved into one of the most competitive leagues in the world. Hosting the best teams and talents, the league is pushing the envelope of quality. With no shortage of skilled players, teams have become more ruthless in their acquisition of stars. As seen in the cutthroat policies used on players these days, no talent is safe from the ax in the modern NBA, even this former #1 pick.
The 5x NBA all-star is entering his 13th year in the league. Surviving where most players would have been cut, the North Carolina native is staying strong and enticing various teams for his signature. With the off-season underway, fans have brought back a clip of Optimus-Dime that even Shaquille O’Neal found amusing.

Shaq recently gave his flowers to the 32-year-old as he shared a post from ‘Ballislife’ on his story, where the 5x all-star delivers a violent ankle breaker on comedian Lil Duval. Fans quickly ridiculed Duval, as the former Wizard dropped the Jacksonville comedian to his knees.

In the video, John Wall leaves the comedian kissing the earth. After faking a drive to the left, Wall smoothly dribbles the ball between his legs. Immediately, this sends Duval’s ankles to the emergency room. In typical Wall-Star?fashion, he sends his defender to the ground and proceeds to dunk the ball.
One fan questioned if it really was him stating “Ain?t no way that?s lil duval lol“. Other viewers were in hysterics as one commented, “He screamed for help on the way down“. Another roast added, “Rumor has it he’s still sliding across the floor.”

Although there was a lot of fun being poked at Duval, few accused Wall of pushing the comedian. One comment read, “pushed him off that hard, bro coulda have his arm broken or sum.”
Shaquille O’Neal clearly felt that the move was deserving of his recognition. That’s why he posted the clip of Wall’s dazzling move on his story. With free agency looming over him, fans are curious what the future holds for the former speedster.
Wall earned more in the NBA than Jordan ever did
Drafted as t, Wall was predicted to have a hall-of-fame career.
The no. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft justified his value during his time with the Washington Wizards. Averaging over 20 points and 10 assists for three straight seasons earned him a four-year, $170 million contract extension in 2017.
Marred by injury problems though, Wall spent the next 2 years hugging the sidelines. Still, he earned over $110 million while recovering.

This meant that Wall earned way more sitting on his couch than Michael Jordan ever did playing for the Bulls. A crazy statistic when put into perspective because, unlike MJ, Wall hasn’t won an NBA title or even reached the finals.
A move to the Houston Rockets was supposed to revive his career in 2020. But after just 40 appearances over 2 years, Houston offloaded the guard. The Rockets reached a contract buyout agreement of $46 million last year. Following this agreement, a short stint in LA was next as the 2014 slam dunk champion signed with the Los Angeles Clippers.

34 games later, the Clippers traded John Wall back to the Rockets, who then waived him in just 3 days. Now once again a free agent, the 5x NBA all-star will be looking to mount a serious comeback, as the likes of the Portland Trail Blazers and Boston Celtics hover around for his signature.
