“I don’t know anything about cars. I can promise you that. I’ve heard of things ….,” these are Shaquille O’Neal’s words for cars. But does that reflect in his life? Well, with such highly valued cars, the legend might try to act humble, or it is just his love to collect beasts without getting into how they are made. And we all know he loves doing the odd stuff with them. Remember, he got into a tiny car of 2.695m in length from the ‘smart’ brand on the New York streets? Hardly fitting! And then customizing a big Lucid Air (4.975m), turning the four-door sedan into a coupe so he could fit inside it better. You never know what he pulls up! Well, do you know what he might be doing with his first Tesla?
He bought a Tesla Cyberbeast worth approximately $101k last year! And if you’ve been following the 4× NBA champ’s car obsession, you know where he gets his cars from? Oh, it is Effortless Motors again, from where he has already added several vehicles to his collection. And now, the official YouTube channel of the company just dropped the full clip of them handing over his first Tesla Cyberbeast.
In the clip, we see the CEO of the company explaining all the features to O’Neal. And what was Shaq doing? The 7-foot-1-inch champ sat comfortably in the spacious car and was awestruck by the features as he quietly listened to all the instructions. Then, Ahmad Abdelrahman mentioned the ‘Toybox’. “You know you can change the colors. This right here want to mess with people a little bit, It’s a little sound you can put in each seat,” Abdelrahman suggested. He explained that through this, O’Neal can change colors, play out pranks, and more on his passengers. And guess what interested the big man?

As he turned on the hilarious fart sounds, O’Neal appeared quite interested in the feature. “Know like fart yeah,” O’Neal replied. So out of all, the only feature that attracted him was the fart sounds with which he can prank passengers. We don’t know which of O’Neal’s passengers fell victim to the fart pranks, but he must have surely used it on someone. The car had other cool features too, and he seemed satisfied with it.

Well, O’Neal’s love and passion for cars is well known. He had been eyeing the Tesla Cybertruck for quite some time, only to face troubles with the cabin size and other issues, thanks to his 7’1″ stature. But that problem was solved when he discovered his now-favorite automotive dealer, Effortless Motors.
LeBron James unexpectedly helped Shaq getting connected with Effortless Motors
Guessing how this collaboration happened? Wait! The new car dealership named Effortless Motors has recently opened in California. To create hype around the brand, their intern posted a fake IG story, one that involved Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. “I had an intern that thought it would be cool to try to get some hype and get our page going. It’s a Bugatti, a high-ranked car, so we’re trying to show him some praise, you know? And we’re a small page, I didn’t think in a million years anybody would ever see that little tag,” Abdelrahman explained on The Big Podcast.

The fake post showed a Bugatti being loaded into a truck while expressing gratitude to King James, making it seem as if he had purchased the car. However, that wasn’t the case, and James, who must have come across the post, was quick to call them out as “Clout Chasers.” Any publicity is good publicity? In the clip, Abdelrahman mentioned that the post was later taken down and that the intern was also fired.

Shaq's new Tesla: Is it all about the tech, or just the fart pranks for him?
Have an interesting take?
But this was already quite huge and even caught O’Neal’s attention! He realized that the company might have some creations suited for his size. Moreover, he also wanted to help the guy who was in trouble. That led to a connection between the two, resulting in O’Neal purchasing seven to eight cars from the brand. His latest? A Cadillac Escalade IQ. He even introduced the company to his TNT colleague Candace Parker. This partnership only seems to get stronger!
