The Golden State Warriors’ newest star, Chris Paul, has been in the headlines ever since his move to the Bay. After his streak of 1365 consecutive starts from the beginning of his NBA career came to an end, things have been a little tough for the player regarding his newly formed space on the Warriors? roster. Following?the recent win against the OKC Thunder, Paul is again under the radar for his scoring capacity. NBA legend Charles Barkley was vocal about the Point God and how he wasn’t too high on the Warriors this season.

With his aging ankles and falling trajectories, there is speculation in the league regarding his longevity.

In yesterday?s game against the Thunder, it seemed as if Chris Paul was ice cold from the floor. However, the Warriors still won their in-season tournament debut 141-139. After going 0-6 from the field, the 38-year-old is being criticized by many veterans. Regarding the same issue, Charles Barkley made a statement during his appearance on ‘The Bettor Angle’ podcast.

Claiming he wasn’t “high on Golden State as most people are,” the Chuckster said the team was getting old. He said, ?I don?t have them doing well this year, but you know Steph is, now you can?t get in a shoot-off with Steph. You saw last year, Sacramento, who I thought had a better team, just had Steph Curry go crazy in game 7.”

Barkley added, ?Uhh, so, but I am not big on the Warriors. I think the age and attrition is going to catch up in the long run. And as much as I love Chris, Chris is the oldest one of those geysers out there.? However, it?s crucial to point out that the point guard did record a stellar tally of 13 assists against OKC.

With an average of 8.0 points, 9.0 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game with the Warriors, CP3 is hoping to push the Warriors closer to the dreamland. However, one thing worth noting here is that with his declining shooting abilities, Paul has fallen as a scorer.

Chris Paul, hailing from North Carolina, has appeared in 1369 games (including the Playoffs) and had been in the starting lineup for the first 1365 games. However, once Draymond Green had recovered and made his appearance in the third game of this regular season, Paul was reserved for the second unit.

Although the Warriors are vouching to preserve Paul for the post-season, the lack of capability to score seems concerning. While Paul’s role will be to assist the scorers in the team, the Warriors will be expecting the 12x NBA All-Star to step up when shots aren’t falling for others. Even though he remains one of the best facilitators in the league, Father Time seems to be catching up to the Point God.
