Stephen A. Smith may be good at analyzing games but can we say the same about his finance management? The ESPN analyst is having a hard time keeping his money straight. Well, his residence in New York City is not helping him. The expenses and taxes are way too high. So, just like most New Yorkers, the $20 million worth analyst has also found a cheaper alternative. During his most awaited appearance on former NBA player Kevin Garnett’s show, KG Certified, the 56-year-old mulled over his decision.

Before the duo could jump right away into conversation, Garnett offered to give a studio tour to the analyst. While KG expressed his wish to visit Smith in New Jersey, the 56-year-old ESPN analyst confessed his wish to move to Florida which will help him save some money on expenses and taxes.

“I’m looking for another crib in Florida. So I’m like, you know, I mean about two months from now I might be in Florida. I got to have primary residence. I’m getting murdered in taxes in New York and LA. Come on man, that’s too much. I’m in the two highest tax states,” Smith complained.

After Smith’s confession, the Boston Celtics legend also agreed with high taxes in New York. What we know is Smith isn’t the only millionaire with this master plan. “Yeah come on man, um that’s too much. It’s too much. I was about to say, ‘Damn, uh yeah, you in like s**t,’” Kevin Garnett noted.

Back in 2022, Smith was very annoyed with NYC traffic as he got caught up on the West Side Highway in New York City, arriving 20 minutes late to his job at the First Take show. This was certainly not a good impression for someone renowned in the broadcasting world.

I’m done with New York! I’m done with New York! I was parked, and when I say parked, I mean literally parked on the West Side Highway. Parked on the West Side Highway!” Smith said to his colleagues as he almost jogged his way to the studio. While he will have to continue dealing with the traffic in New York, shifting his residence might help.
