Shaquille O’Neal is always surrounded by adoring fans and constant media attention wherever he goes.  However, looking back at his life, he still feels “lonely” sometimes. Big Diesel has been unfortunate in his past relationship. During numerous interviews, O’Neal expressed his regret on how things would have turned out differently if he had avoided the mistakes he made in life. 

Previously, Shaq confessed how much he struggled with loneliness when he ended his seven-year marriage with ex-wife Shaunie, who also took their children’s custody. It appears that loneliness continues to linger in the larger-than-life phenom’s life. Despite having a bustling social circle, O’Neal still has remorse over his mistakes that led to his divorce from Henderson.

Expressing his regret, Shaquille O’Neal said in an interview with People, “You know when you get older, you try to think about the mistakes that you made that could have been avoided. Divorce is definitely one of them.”

Shaq and Shaunie share four children, Shareef, Amirah, Shaqir, and Me’Arah. Following infidelity and Henderson’s public outcry over it, the couple got separated in 2011. As mentioned above, the 4x NBA champion has often confessed some of his mistakes ruined their relationship, while things weren’t easy for Henderson as well.

Years after their split and her second marriage to Pastor Keion Henderson, the businesswoman decided to open up about her struggles in her book.

The Basketball Wives star made headlines when she announced the launch of her book, ‘UNDEFEATED: Changing the Rules and Winning on My Own Terms’. From her marriage life with the former Los Angeles Lakers player, their separation, and co-parenting kids together to starting a new life, Shaunie reflected on her life in this book. 

Just days ahead of the launch, Shaq even showed his approval by giving a shout-out to his ex-wife. Taking to his Instagram account, he shared a shot of the cover page of the book and wrote, “Uh oh naaa im just playing congrats @iamshaunie.”

The mother of four also opened up about her previous hesitations to write about her past relationship and issues with O’Neal. Speaking to People about her book and her hesitations, Shaunie said,  “I’m literally telling my story and my journey, which he was a part of. So I’ve always been a little nervous about that, but I think I did a good job at sharing my story without destroying him because that’s not my intent at all, ever.”
