While praising Draymond Green for the way he plays basketball, Anthony reminded people that Green has already won championships with the way he plays, so he should not be forced to change.

Carmelo Anthony acknowledges Draymond Green’s playstyle

In a recent episode of the 7 PM in Brooklyn podcast, Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero talked about the difference in impact a player has, as a guard and as a forward. During this discussion, Carmelo Anthony asserted that a team needs players like Draymond Green. Green is not always looking to score the ball, but he is an engine for the team. He blocks shots, and rebounds, and is always there to be with his teammates.

Carmelo said, “Look at Draymond. They ready. You know he’s smart, and he’s not gonna change, and I don’t think he should change. It is what it is. This is what I do, and this is how I win championships.“

So Anthony believes that whatever Green did just happened in the heat of the moment, but the way he plays has contributed to the Warriors winning four championships.

While almost the entirety of the sports media is exhausted from seeing the antics of Draymond Green and is calling for him to change how he plays, Carmelo Anthony is now hoping that Green does not change from who he is, as his method has proven to work so far.

Draymond Green was suspended ‘indefinitely’ after his recent incident on the court. While there is no real timeline for his return, it was reported that Green would have to follow certain conditions set by the NBA and the team before making his way back to the Warriors.
