The tussle started with Shaq calling out Nikola Jokic and stating that the latter did not deserve an MVP. The comments though taken lightly by Jokic couldn’t be accepted by his fans and also NFL veteran Shannon Sharpe. Sharpe commented that Shaq was being envious of Jokic due to his MVP awards. Notably, Shaq has won just one NBA MVP whereas Jokic already has three. And then Shaq shocked fans with his next statement.

Shaq in a way to shut up Sharpe tweeted on his official Twitter handle X that he would release a diss track and end the beef. He stated as per his admission that he would become the 50 cent of the NBA, most probably pointing to the fact that 50 cent is called the assassin for his diss tracks. And Shaq was in the mood to roll over Sharpe completely.

Staying true to his word, Shaq released a diss track for Sharpe and had fans divided over his recent move. Taking to his Instagram account Shaq captioned the post “whenever yall wanna listen to a podcast when the host has #g14 classifications tune into” and tagged a host of celebrities including 50 cent.

Fans criticize Shaq’s behavior

“Bro how tf do those guys have more G14 if Shannon a 3 time champ,” a fan commented. Notably, the user was referring to Sharpe being a three-time Super Bowl Champion which is one of the most-watched NFL leagues. Though Shaq has also won his league that is the NBA four times, the netizen wanted to point out that Super Bowl wins also matter. The G14 is a title used by Shaq for those players who have been extremely successful in their respective games. And going by Sharpe’s portfolio it seems he is one of them.

“Shaq should change his name to BIG BABY,” another fan commented. This was a sarcastic take by the fan on the rapper name for Shaq. The NBA legend seemingly got hurt over a minute matter since Sharpe had stated “Shaq should have five MVPs. He sees a guy like Nikola Jokic, that’s not as dominant as him and gets three in four years.” apart from adding “and I think a part of him is envious of that.” As per the fan, Shaq shouldn’t have reacted so much to that.

“Shaq not gonna let Drake and Kendrick have all the fun 😂,” one fan pointed out. The follower truly spoke that America was waiting for development in Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef. And actually, it was Shaq’s and Sharpe’s beef that emerged out of nowhere and took center stage.

“You can’t say you’re too old for the drama while posting 3+ times on IG over it in 12 hours lol cmon,” a netizen stated. Shaq had previously expounded that Sharpe was resorting to “click bait” tactics for his podcast as per Yahoo Sports.

“Shaq clout cashing cause Shannon’s podcast has way more viewers lolol,” another user stated. Shaq has fewer views on his podcast than Sharpe. While the Big Podcast with Shaq has 187K subscribers, Club Shay Shay has 3.16M subscribers.

Hopefully, Shaq and Sharpe will let it go and find alternatives for a peace proposal. Till then, fans would be hoping for them to give it a rest.
