There are moments in life that, out of nowhere, take you right back to a time that feels both close and distant all at once. A simple sight, a familiar sound, or even a short clip can unlock a flood of memories that remind you of things once taken for granted. Nostalgia is one thing that spares no one. For Isaiah Thomas, one such moment recently surfaced, stirring emotions that many parents know all too well – the pain of cherished traditions fading with time.
But beyond basketball, there’s another role that defines Thomas just as much, fatherhood. The 36-year-old shares a very close bond with his son, sharing playful moments, and spending time together. Remember the time he ended up recounting the anecdote of when the Nuggets’ resident prankster, Nikola Jokic turned his son, young Jaiden Thomas, into a towel-mummy. Needless to say, as he paraded around with Jaiden, the locker room was left in splits – as was the father himself.
Similarly, Isaiah Thomas recently shared a story on Instagram – but the emotion was equal parts lighthearted fun and wistful. In the story, a clip was shared of his son Jaiden Thomas when he was significantly younger. Jaiden was seen attending a skit where he and an unseen lady played out a post-game interview, where he solemnly reported that he was sidelined due to injury while blocking a certain 4x NBA champion – but with a innocently funny twist!

The clip is hilarious, taking a shot at none other than the storied LeBron James, and, it sent Isiah Thomas on a trip down nostalgia lane. Remembering the good old days, he captioned it, “Like we really use to do this everyday 😂. I miss when they was this young (He said debron James 😂,) referencing the time when the children were young and the ritual was a regular occurrence.
Clearly, Isaiah still shares a close bond with his son. They have had many iconic moments that have been captured on camera, giving the world some moments to cherish as well. Let us take a look at some of these moments.
Jaiden and Isaiah Thomas’ Most Iconic Moments
Over the years, his bond with his son, Jaiden, has produced some unforgettable moments. These incidents include backyard battles to playful courtside antics. Jaiden has been a constant presence providing solace and love to the great Isiah Thomas.
One of their most iconic moments came when Jaiden took over an actual press conference for his dad. Sitting confidently behind the microphone, he fielded questions like a seasoned pro, delivering responses with the kind of swagger that made it clear he had been watching his father closely. The moment became an instant fan favorite, showcasing the playful dynamic between the two and etching itself in the NBA folklore.

Beyond press conferences too, Jaiden has often been seen imitating his dad’s moves through home videos, hitting game-winners in their driveway, and even playfully trash-talking him in their one-on-one matchups. And as it turns out, the 12-year-old already seems to be following in his father hooping footsteps; the clips of his little scoop layup style and blocking shots playing middle school ball often mimic that of his father.
Whether Jaiden is hyping up his dad’s return to the league or recreating dramatic in-game moments, he has always been more than just a spectator – he’s been a companion in the Isaiah Thomas story since his birth. It is special seeing their bond extend far beyond basketball, but their shared love for the game has created memories that will last a lifetime. Even as traditions fade and new ones take their place, the highlights of their journey together remain unforgettable.
