Both Camron and Christian Horry inherited their father’s athleticism. While one is making a name for himself in a different sport, Christian follows the same passion for basketball as his father. Just a few months back, the 6-foot-2 shooting guard announced his commitment to join UCLA. Excited at the prospect, the Lakers star penned down a heart-touching message for his son who is about to start a new chapter of life.

“I am so proud of you. The things you were able to accomplish on your journey through the high school chapter of your life, beyond amazing. I know none of these were easy,” Horry wrote on Instagram.

He further added, “Harvard Westlake honor roll and back2back basketball state champs, simply the best!! Now on to the next chapter which I can’t wait to be apart of. The fam and I are ready. I hope every chapter in you life keeps getting better than the last..Super Proud Papa.” Christian reciprocated the love by writing “love you pops” in the comments section.

Most of the slides had pictures of the Los Angeles Lakers star posing alongside his son Christian and wife Candace Madrid. Right after the announcement in February, the Harvard-Westlake High shooting guard also expressed his gratitude through a post on Instagram. Years after Shaquille O’Neal‘s son Shareef O’Neal, UCLA will have another celebrity player on their roster as Christian makes his debut with the Bruins.

Horry’s eldest son Camron plays football. With the same athleticism as his father, Camron played as the tight end for Katy Taylor High School. Despite his sons doing so well, there is still a void in Horry’s heart.

The Lakers legend cherished his two daughters. His youngest daughter is Jade Horry and she lives in L.A. Unfortunately, the 7x NBA champion’s eldest daughter Ashlyn passed away in 2011 at the age of 17 due to a rare genetic disease.

Ashlyn suffered from a rare 1p36 deletion syndrome. This genetic disorder causes intellectual disabilities, seizures, and respiratory issues. Apart from playing against the most competitive players in the NBA, the 7x NBA Champ always stood next to his daughter who battled against the disease for 17 years.

In honor of Ashlyn, the Los Angeles Lakers legend decided to initiate the Ashlyn Horry Foundation to help other parents and kids. The NBA legend and his family still continue the same.
