The talent parity is at an all-time high in the NBA. But, the debate between defense and offense being exciting remains prevalent. Most legends today claim that the league is easy to score on, throwing out gigantic numbers that they could average. A statement like “Michael Jordan would average 50 in today’s game” is all too common for an NBA fan to hear. However, objectively, there is some truth to the opinion. Based solely on facts, NBA teams are averaging more points than ever before. As a result, fans are starting to find agreement with the hypotheticals of legends. This is the situation that Jamal Crawford found himself in.
After a claim for what he could potentially do in the league, fans were quick to jump to the dribbling wizard’s defense. It seems, for once, the NBA fanbase can unite on one opinion.

There are few players throughout the NBA that have unified the entire fandom. But when it comes to Jamal Crawford, we can all agree to put our animosities aside.

Arguably the greatest 6th man ever, the Los Angeles Clippers legend would continuously wow audiences during his time in the league. Despite coming into the league during its defensive peak, with one of the greatest handles of all time, Crawford was able to dissect and score at will.
But, with a more free-flowing offense, additional offensive talent, and incomparable spacing, what could his ceiling be in today’s league? After claiming that he could average high 20s as a starter, Jamal one-upped the hilarity, claiming “Yes! I agree with me.”

Fans are on JCrawsover’s side
In his last outing, at 39 years and 20 days old, Jamal Crawford was able to eclipse the 50-point mark for the Brooklyn Nets. In fact, he holds the record for the oldest player to drop 50 in an NBA game. This, paired with the agelessness of Crawford’s style of play has fans agreeing with the 43-year-old’s recent take.
Pointing to that stark difference in focus and talent, one fan made the obvious point. “With the lack of defense and offensive juggernauts teams got i’d say he wiuld [would] average 22+”

Then, another fan had the same idea. Due to the emphasis on scoring and the 3-pointer, Crawford, who did eclipse 20 in a much tighter era, could easily eclipse that mark. “Considering you already averaged 20 before…I don’t see why you couldn’t with today’s rules and higher emphasis?on?3s.”

One fan was more direct in his approval stating “no lies detected”.

A fan went into anecdotal mode. Referring to a conversation they had with their brother, a comparison to LeBron James was abound. After impersonating Michael once, it seems like he could duplicate James too. “I just told my brother this yesterday. The conversation was if anybody 35+ besides Bron could avg 20 or more today”
