Nikola Jokic‘s achievements have made him one of the most in-demand players in the NBA. The Siberian superstar recently became only the third player in NBA history to record a triple-double against every single team he has faced. However, it seems Jokic wants nothing else but to focus on the game right now. He declined a podcast invitation from Andre Iguodala in one of the most humorous ways possible.
Iggy was seen approaching Jokic in the back after a game, asking him to do his podcast. The 29-year-old instantly declined the request with a simple “No”. This instantaneous refusal took Iggy by surprise, prompting him to persist, trailing after Jokic in a comical attempt to sway him.
The video further captured Jokic pointing Andre towards someone else. Though Iggy assured the Joker that he would get “him too,” Jokic said, “Not him too, just him”. Jokic later ran away from Iggy with baby steps. The 284-lb player running like a child furthered the funny element of the video.

While some reacted to the video with humor, some believe that the Joker did the right thing by declining the invitation. The reactions stem from what Andre allegedly did with the Denver Nuggets during his time as a Nuggets player.

Is the Nuggets’ history with Andre Iguodala a reason for the podcast decline?
During the 2013 playoffs, the Denver Nuggets faced the Golden State Warriors. There were rumors that Andre, who was then a Nuggets player, was leaking information about his team’s strategies to the Warriors’ coach. This suspicion arose partly due to Iggy’s close relationship with some of the Warriors’ players.
The Nuggets coach at the time, George Karl, publicly accused Iggy of being a “mole” after the series. Andre denied these allegations, and no definitive proof of the leaks emerged. However, the controversy fueled speculation and contributed to some animosity towards Andre among the Nuggets fans.

The fans were further upset after Iggy did not re-sign with the Nuggets after 2013. He, in fact, moved to the Warriors going ahead to win four NBA championships with the team. Meanwhile, the Nuggets never reached the Finals in that period. Although years have passed, some Nuggets fans still hold on to negative feelings towards Andre, associating him with the 2013 controversy and their team’s subsequent struggles.
