The Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Sail” represents a fresh take on the classic silhouette. The Kobe 6 was originally released in 2010 and was known for its low profile design and innovative “snake scale” upper that was inspired by Bryant’s “Black Mamba” moniker. The Protro version is short for “Performance Retro.” In the case of a Protro version, the original design is updated with modern technology so that it can keep pace with modern playing methods while maintaining the essence of the iconic design.
Now as for the color scheme of the shoe, it is a blend of the colors black, light bone, white, and platinum violet. The Nike logo is in black and contrasts well with the white upper body. We can also see the light bone color extend to the midsole and heel sections. The shoe is set to be officially released on February 15, 2025, and will be available both online (at Nike.com, SNKR.com) and in physical stores. As with previous Kobe releases, expect high demand and potentially limited availability.
The Kobe line has always maintained a premium price point, reflecting its status as a top-tier performance sneaker. The Kobe 6 Protro “Sail” is expected to retail mainly at two price points, $190 and $120 respectively. These shoes were rumored to be an exclusive edition for the Philadelphia 76ers player, Paul George, but were later seen to be worn by Bryant’s wife, Vanessa Bryants, and UCONN basketball star Paige Bueckers.
However, before the shoes are released, there’s more on the way this year.
Another new Kobe shoe is scheduled to drop soon
Nike is set to reintroduce a collection of classic Kobe 8 Team Bank colorways to bring back a beloved era of Bryant’s signature sneaker line. These iconic colorways are inspired by the various teams that Kobe played against throughout his illustrious career and are sure to be an excite.
The Kobe 8 Team Bank colorways were originally released in 2013 and quickly became popular. The collection featured vibrant and eye-catching color schemes, each representing a different NBA team.
