From leaving the NBA due to injuries and making an impact in the clothing world, Lanny Smith has fought a hard path in the last few years. Starting a clothing brand of his own, Smith made his mark in several places and now he has got approval from Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson, for his tribute to The Answer.
Smith plans to become a competitor for the top brands in the sports industry such as Nike, Adidas, etc. In a step towards it, he decided to collaborate with Iverson to create a hoodie that stands unique for a few reasons. Iverson shared a picture of him and Smith wearing the new hoodie and shared in the captions, “This man (Lanny Smith) designed a hoodie that shows love to the sleeve I wore and made iconic.”

Imagine if Iverson’s white arm sleeve on his right hand was permanently embarked on your hoodie. That was the idea behind these new creations. The black hoodie will have the right full sleeve in white, to give you the feeling of what Iverson wore earlier in his career. Well, that’s some creativity!
Smith’s career was cut short due to a devastating injury, but he did not let that get the best of him. Smith’s brand is named, ‘Active Faith Sports’, which was started 4 years back in 2020 in the wake of George Floyd’s death. That gave an impactful start for the former Sacramento Kings guard and now he has around 180k followers on Instagram alone.

Smith sustained an injury on his right knee which permanently put an end to his NBA career. He shared on his Instagram post that it pushed him to the depression and he was clueless as to what he wanted to do next. He shared, “I had an entirely different life before this. Basketball was my everything. The NBA was my dream since 5 years old.”
But when Smith entered the clothing industry with a motive to achieve, he shared, “God gave me a dream bigger than the 1 I had for myself. But it took the 1st dream dying to birth the new dream.”
The above quotes are from Smith’s inspirational Instagram post that he shared two years back. They say, “Careful what you wish for,” but Smith need not anymore as he is on his way to making it to the top spot with a new dream in his hand. The NBA gave up on Smith, but it definitely taught him how to fight.
