Shaquille O’Neal is feeling like a proud alum of Louisiana State University thanks to one superstar. He bestowed the ultimate title on Angel Reese, the next big thing to suit up for the Tigers. He doubled down on his praise for the 21-year-old with his first order of business as Reebok’s newly-minted President of Basketball. No matter how much haters go after Reese, she has a 7’1″ wall named Big Diesel defending her.

Shaq is continuing the Angel Reese hype-train with his latest commentary. He even believes she’s better than him and should own it.

Angel Reese has the biggest LSU alum in her corner. Shaquille O’Neal has been warding off haters from her from day one. Given her rise to stardom and making his alma mater famous, he’s dubbed her the greatest player in Tigers history. Reese, contrary to her media persona, played it humble that she’d take the title if she won another championship for LSU.

While on Overtime, President Shaq was informed about Reese’s reluctance to accept his praise immediately. O’Neal was quick to dismiss her protest.

“Doesn’t matter what she said. It’s what I said,” he declared. He further that everyone is entitled to their opinions and his opinion is that she is the GOAT of LSU’s court.

“I was the former greatest athlete and I gave it to her. I think she definitely put the woman’s program on the map, the way she did it, the way she played, you know it was remarkable. So I gave it to her. Because I had great accolades but I didn’t win. She won. She took it to the top”

The Los Angeles Lakers legend is aware many would contradict his claim. But others aren’t part of this discussion. This is his opinion alone and he takes full accountability. He’d also prefer Reese would own it too. “She’s just being humble. We don’t need her to be humble. We need her to go out there and be who she is and win another championship. But even she doesn’t win, I stand by what I said.”

The Bayou Barbie, who proclaimed she’s “unapologetically” herself, won LSU its first national championship, a feat even Shaq didn’t accomplish during his collegiate career. She’s announced her decision to return to defend the title and give her best to justify Big Diesel’s big praise for her.

Meanwhile, her stardom is also attracting lucrative deals. She’s parlayed her fame into supporting her charitable ventures. That just got the biggest boost thanks to Shaq.

When Reebok announced Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson as the new executive leadership of the Basketball division, everyone was anticipating something big.

The duo teased a major announcement about bringing the GOAT to commemorate this deal. Given that the prez has already passed the mantle of LSU’s GOAT to Reese, we should’ve seen this coming.

It doesn’t make it any less historic. The 21-year-old is Shaq and AI’s first signing to the Reebok’s roster with her new NIL deal. They announced it on social media with Shaq once again touting Angel Reese’s impact on the game.
