A YouTube or a basketball Hall of Fame nominee? Who would you bet on if a friendly three-point shooting contest was in focus? Sounds like a one-sided massacre, right? But hold up, the final score had a different story to tell, leaving everyone scratching their heads and saying, “Wait…how?”
Dwight Howard aka the NBA’s “Superman,” has nailed 22 three-pointers throughout his career. He’s one of the all-time greats, who even gave LeBron James a run for his money when locked in. But lately? Dwight seems a little out of his groove. And no, we are not hinting on his DWTS run ending. In a surprising twist, the basketball icon lost a 3-point shootout to YouTube star Jesser.
Just yesterday, Jesser shared a post that showed him going head-to-head with Dwight Howard. The rules were simple. The first to sink three 3-pointers, three times, would take the crown.

Each contender had 20 shots, and whoever scored the most would win. At first, it was exactly what fans expected. Dwight dominated without breaking a sweat. Although not able to pull all the shots, he did stay ahead. But just when he was on the brink of victory, things started to take an unexpected turn.
Jesser spotted Dwight’s slip-up. He seized the moment, nailed some insane 3-pointers, and flipped the script. Yup, Jesser took the win! Both seemed in great spirits about it. It was all in good fun, and someone had to take the loss.

But in real life, the story of Dwight is something else. He is the kind of guy who never backs down in life and is always hungry for the top. Right now, he’s making a serious push to return to the NBA, proving he’s not done just yet.
Dwight Howard desires to end NBA career on his terms
Dwight Howard last suited up for the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2021-22 NBA season. After stepping away from the NBA, the 8x All-Star took his talents overseas, joining Taiwan’s T1 League to play for the Taoyuan Leopards.
Why? To show the world and himself that the fire for basketball is still burning strong, just like it was 10 years ago. In an interview, Dwight made it clear, “I do want to make it back to the NBA…I can still play.”

At 39, Dwight knows he’s not the same player he was in his prime. But he’s still got that undeniable confidence. He’s convinced that even though he’s not at his peak, he’s still among the top-tier centers in the game.
As he put it, “Well, I personally, in my opinion, believe that you have an upper echelon of centers that’s playing now and obviously, I’m not at my peak so people would consider me at this playing stage as being upper echelon.”
Dwight still believes he can dominate on the court. “I know I can provide a team with 25 minutes of dominant basketball. And that’s not even scoring, that’s just playing defense.”
