Is Charles Barkley crossing the line with his 'mental bullying' comments on Dwight Howard?

I love Dwight Howard as a person and as a player, but he’s getting on my last damn nerve.Charles Barkley, in 2012, was tired of the Center’s indecision in selecting his next destination. And now it seems DH12 is tired of fans choosing Chuck over him. Previously, he made a tweet to shut down any such notion. But it was not enough, as he dived deep into his podcast to prove a point.

Name one player that mentally bullied me while we was playing.” Dwight Howard replied to the first part of the fan’s theory when they appreciated Charles Barkley more. “Barkley got more dog in him than Dwight. Barkley would mentally bully Dwight on the court,” was the tweet from the fan. Yet, the second part of the fan reaction, “But I would take Howard to start a Franchise” riled up the 8x All-Star.

You a fu**ing backwards! So you want somebody that’s not a dog and mentally weak on the court to start a franchise with as you say.” The 3x DPOY continued on ‘Above the Rim with DH12′, “I got the most dunks in NBA history and I dunked in every which way, backwards, forwards, 360 windmill, two-hand, lobs. Come on, son!

It’s true that alongside his defensive capabilities, DH12 holds the record for most dunks in NBA history with 2950 dunks. This is 324 more than Charles Barkley’s best friend Shaq. Even though the former Magic Center has the dunks record, his scoring record does fall short in comparison. He only averaged more than 20 points per game, four times during his 18-year-long NBA career. Meanwhile, Chuck averaged the same in 11 consecutive seasons during his 16-year spell.

Naturally, the 76ers legend ended up with a better scoring average, but also had a very similar rebounding average. So from the statistical perspective, there is no clear winner. And just like any ‘What if?’ question, the answer is subjective. But where did the beef suddenly start from?

A tweet from former Lakers star ignites the beef between Dwight Howard and Charles Barkley

It all started when Nick Young, in his infamous way, tweeted, “If you starting a team who you taken Barkley or Dwight first.” Before this Young would claim that the 2017-18 Warriors team was no match for the 2004 Lakers team. Yes, the Warriors were the eventual champions, and the Lakers lost in one of the biggest upsets of this century. But the fans did let Young know that his opinion was not valid.

Similarly, a fan shared the opinion that “Barkley would mentally bully Dwight on the court.” And before the detailed video reply, Dwight Howard got things out of his chest. “Go to sleep, I was sending your fav players shot to the bleachers and had people afraid to come to the hoop & you talking about someone being a dog,” the 8x All-Star wrote in his response on X.

But the fan did not stop there and replied again, this time addressing DH12. “Just ask CHAT GPT” and shared the screenshot where the AI machine tool concluded that Charles Barkley was better. So do we take AI’s help to conclude, or should we use Shaq’s ring debate to conclude that Dwight Howard was better?
