The president of the Big Man Alliance has made his claim. Shaquille O’Neal is keeping an eye on an underrated new player who’s trailing after the biggest hype in the league now. The second generation South Sudanese hooper has created some ridiculous highlights during his sparse appearances on the hardwood. It seems Shaq is also aboard the Bol Bol hype train. Earlier today, he made a controversial comment that will shake the most tough-skinned analysts and fans.
O’Neal’s endorsement comes after Reggie Miller became enthusiastic about the San Antonio Spurs‘ newest powerhouse. But Big Diesel?wanted to redirect his attention to another seven-foot standout, the son of Manute Bol.

The 7’4″ phenomenon that is Victor Wembanyama is all the hype this year. And as he’s playing his first NBA season with the San Antonio Spurs, Shaquille O’Neal is redirecting focus to another standout big man.??Y?all act like you never seen a guy like [Victor Wembanyama] before. Yes, you have. His name is Bol Bol. And I stand on what I said,? Shaq said on?Inside the NBA.
23-year-old Bol Bol stands at 7’2″, an inch higher than Shaq. And the Phoenix Suns player has been on his radar too. He brought it up after Reggie Miller got on the Wemby bandwagon. Shaq took a jab at Miller telling him he’s not paid enough attention to Bol Bol.
O’Neal’s take will shock all the Wemby fans. It already shocked the Inside Crew. It made Charles Barkley lose his cool and yell, “He’s only played three games!”?about Bol Bol. And he doesn’t think that’s enough to compare to Victor. To be fair, Barkley did play with Manute Bol while on the Sixers. It could be that unsuccessful partnership that has left behind some skepticism in Chuck’s mind.
Shaq nonetheless explained his position, claiming Bol Bol is the first 7-footer with a handle and a three-point shot. He told his nemesis, “You can yell all you want. I stand on what I said.” As Chuck insisted he was not yelling, Shaq insisted he’s in the minority as Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson agree with him. (Of course, they couldn’t get a word in between Chuck and Shaq’s argument.)

Like Barkley, most would say comparing Wembanyama to Bol Bol is apples and oranges. Shaq though said, “Bol Bol just don’t play hard, that’s all.”

Shaq hasn’t completely discounted Wembanyama though. He did give him the benefit of the doubt briefly.

Shaq gets roasted over Wemby slander
While few might agree with Shaq’s Wemby-Bol Bol comparison, he said that Wemby is more consistent than Bol Bol. Barkley agreed on that but would list out the Suns’ player’s shortcomings as well.
Reggie Miller would enjoy the way Barkley went after Shaq on the show. O’Neal is still on the fringes of the Wemby hype-train. As soon as O’Neal started dishing on Wemby, Chuck compared him and the young star. And in the same breath reminded Shaq he doesn’t have the Wemby physique.
