Former NBA star Nate Robinson has been fighting a silent battle for over a decade. A first-round pick from the 2005 NBA Draft, Robinson played in the league over 11 seasons. People who saw him live or on television did not know that he’d been playing with a damaged kidney since 2006. But, Robinson was well aware that someday his kidneys might fail him. The only thing he did not know was when.

That unfortunate day came in October 2022, when Robinson first learned that he was suffering from renal kidney failure. Since then, the former Knicks star’s life has been a never-ending struggle. Robinson has been doing dialysis for up to three times a week. The sessions last for almost four hours, all this to just stay alive. Robinson said he “doesn’t have long to live” if he doesn’t receive a kidney transplant in an interview with the Daily Mail.

Unfortunately, of the 101,000 Americans waiting for a kidney transplant. Only 17,000 receive one each year. Due to this, almost 12 people die every day waiting for a kidney. However, luckily after several years of struggles and pain, Nate Robinson will survive as he shares some great news. After not giving up through these rough times Robinson is finally set to live a normal life once again. He shared this news through his Instagram account.
