The EDM world had little to no warning that the biggest duo ever in the genre were about to strike. Shaquille O’Neal has been deejaying for over five years and his eldest son, Myles, has been a frequent opening act or featuring artist. But they have now officialized themselves as the O’Neal Boyz, the first father-son duo of bass. The O’Neal Boyz made their debut at Tomorrowland’s Rave Cave this week mere minutes before Shaq himself discovered that there was no dad-son DJ duo before them. That made him extra excited and infected his other kid too.
Like a proud Mama Bird she is, Taahirah O’Neal directed her Instagram followers’ attention to Shaq and Myles’ appearance at the Tomorrowland radio show before their duo debut. And she told everyone, “Look at my children making history.”
The Rave Cave is one of the more intimate venues under the festival and it was Shaq’s first time performing there, though he’s become a regular headliner at the Tomorrowland festival. But this was no soft launch for the O’Neal Boyz. While both were announced as the main acts, we and even Shaq didn’t know what we were getting till they arrived on One World Radio.

Myles kept hinting at a surprise for O’Neal’s Rave Cave debut. “We’ve got some special news,” Myles revealed. “We’re debuting our duo, father-son duo.” As Myles promised, they went from the radio show to the Rave Cave deck to debut the O’Neal Boyz.

While the double-act was planned, Shaq didn’t seem to know that the O’Neal Boyz are the first to make it a family business. In typical Shaq-fashion, the big man was wide-eyed, shocked, kept interrupting Myles to ask, “in history?” more than once. Yes, Shaq. Taahirah confirmed you’re making history.
The bigger question is, is it a one-off thing? Not according to the shorter half of this team. In the same post Taahirah shared, Myles commented, “Throw them O’s up.” An indication that O’Neal Boyz have a lot more in store, perhaps.

Shaq’s eldest daughter, Taahirah, turned 28 last week. She celebrated her birthday with Shareef and other friends and family in the Bahamas. Meanwhile Shaq and Myles were on the Summer of Bass tour going from London, Romania, and Croatia leading to the latest stop at Tomorrowland.
She’s not bitter her dad and other siblings missed her yacht party. She’s obviously proud of what her ‘children’ are doing. She’ll be prouder with the first updates from Rave Cave.
Myles shared several clips from the set and fans were going wild about the O’Neal Boyz’s “crazy” debut. It’s rare for these two to take the consoles simultaneously and fans love it. Their first stage went along with the grand opening of the official O’Neal Boyz Instagram page. They’re already on the way to Hvar, Croatia for their next stage. Now how long before we get that album?
