The NBA regular season is on, which means Shaquille O?Neal is watching every minute of it. Last night, the Big Aristotle must’ve felt a moment of prophecy. In the final minutes of a close game, the Houston Rockets attempted to shut down The Chef by putting Dillon Brooks on him. Brooks clearly had not heeded Shaq’s 5-month-old warning as he was put on skates by Stephen Curry.
The Golden State Warriors beat the Houston Rockets 106-95 on Sunday. But for Dillon Brooks, the defeat was a little more sore. The three-point rockstar?turned him into Internet fodder with how he scored on him in the fourth quarter.

After a three-point hat trick, the desperation to stop Chef Curry probably got to Brooks and led to him getting cooked. The entire moment, straight out of a cartoon, was as astounding to Curry as it was to Brooks and everyone watching. The Golden State Warriors star reacted comically, resembling Edvard Munch’s famous painting, The Scream.
While Curry’s hilarious reaction became a viral sensation (and probably going to be a reaction meme up for years to come), Brooks was not forgotten. Steph juked him with a mean crossover, got him dancing in the wrong direction, misdirected him again, and scored his fourth consecutive three-pointer of the game after pump faking Dillon Brooks out of the play.
Superman Shaq was one of the many laughing at Dillon the Villain. He reposted the same moment from the game on his Instagram stories for his 33 million followers, with a laughing avatar and a loud, “Wow.”

He probably saw this coming. After Memphis let go of Brooks, Shaq warned him that it would be tough to convince another team to sign him. Before the Rockets picked him up, Brooks was in trouble for his technical fouls and excessive trash-talking.

O’Neal is not always critical of Brooks. He did give him the benefit of doubt if he fixed things. But it seems Shaq’s 5-month-old comments might still be relevant for the 27-year-old.

In early May,?Big Diesel?addressed the then-hot-topic of Dillon Brooks. Notably, the forward had agitated fans with his disrespect towards LeBron James. While O’Neal didn’t reference those incidents, he did take note of Brooks’ attitude.
On ‘The Big Podcast, Shaq advised Dillon Brooks to “check [himself] before he wrecks [himself].”?
Of course, this led to a burst of laughter and disbelief on the call. But the 4-time NBA champion was quickly questioned on his statement. O’Neal clarified “I seen a lot of memes that say him [Brooks] and Dwight [Howard] gonna be dominating in Taiwan.”

Yesterday, in Shaq’s home, his son Shareef was also in stitches following Curry’s clutch moves. He reshared an Instagram post that captured the entire scene with his 3 million followers. Clearly, the O’Neal household has a clear perspective on the future of Dillon Brooks. Do you agree? What did you think of the recent performance by Curry?
