Big wishes are pouring in from all over the internet as one of Shaquille O’Neal‘s most awaited nights has finally arrived. Just a few minutes after his #32 touched the rafters, another former Magic center, Dwight Howard, took the opportunity to thank Shaq and also throw his own hat into the ring.

The Big Diesel got his jersey retired by the Orlando Magic tonight, making him the first player to receive this honor from the franchise. Looks like Dwight Howard wants to be next in line. The 3x Defensive Player of the Year congratulated Shaq on his Twitter, “Congrats to Shaq”, but also added, One Superman down thank you Magic”, hinting that there is another Superman that the Magic should consider retiring.

Of course, the only other famous Superman in the league was none other than DH12, who had a terrific stint in Orlando. Looks like he wants the honors to match the nicknames. Do you think the Magic will consider Dwight Howard for their second jersey retirement? Well, he has an incredible resume for it, but even the legends from the 90s are yet to get their jersey retired.

A few who are in line would be Penny Hardaway, Dennis Scott, and Tracy McGrady, whom Shaq mentioned about in his speech today. Even the Big Diesel is rooting for their retirement, so Dwight Howard has a lot of time left to go up the rafters.

Although the final results were a disappointment, Shaq’s Magic and Howard’s Magic are two of the best teams of the organization, but from different eras.

After the Big Diesel, Howard put Orlando in the map once again. He took them to the post season for five straight time from 2007-11. Fans believe that if Shaq deserved a jersey retirement for his four monstrous seasons with the Magic, then Howards also deserves the honor, sooner or later.
