“He’s really good,” said Shaquille O’Neal about his stepson Myles. In the O’Neal household, talent seems to flow effortlessly from one generation to the next. When Shaq dominated the basketball court, few could have predicted that his legacy would extend beyond the hardwood into the pulsating world of electronic dance music. Yet here we are, witnessing the O’Neal dynasty’s rhythm revolution, as his son Myles is making waves with beat-dropping footsteps into the DJ booth. However, this time a different narrative has surfaced.
Shaunie O’Neal recently stirred up social media buzz by posting a video showcasing her son Myles’ DJ session at a nightclub, boldly claiming credit for teaching him the tricks of the trade. “I taught him that 😎 @mylesoneal #myson #proudmom,” wrote Shaunie as the caption of the post.
This comes just weeks after Shaquille O’Neal publicly schooled Myles on the fundamentals of DJing, particularly emphasizing the importance of understanding BPM (beats per minute).

“My oldest son [Myles] who’s a top DJ now, he came in one time and I was hard on him. So usually when I’m hard on them, they just step away. But he, he listened to me. I feel good when I don’t have to make the call… Like I got this much knowledge so when I’m teaching, I’m giving you all the knowledge. Listen, ‘what’s BPM’? Get out. Get out, ‘I told you this is 76 and this 77, the songs go together’. So he got out and stayed with it and now on his own he’s one of the top DJs,” said O’Neal during the podcast.

Beyond his talents as a model and socialite, Myles has been honing his skills in mixing tracks and engaging audiences. He started his music journey last year when he released his first single Superficial. It is only this year that the 27-year-old has entered the EDM scene. After doing B2B sets with his father, Myles has been headlining shows nationwide while supporting artists like SIDEPIECE, Sickick, Chantal Jeffries, and NITTI.

He also made it to Lollapalooza earlier this year, soon after making history with his father at Tomorrowland. So it’s sure a collaborative and supportive environment within the O’Neal family — Shaq’s tough love and high expectations and Shaunie’s encouragement and a little warmth.
