An Instagram page recently uploaded a series of pictures that had fans talking. The first picture features a collage of a prime Michael Jordan alongside Minnesota Timberwolves player Anthony Edwards. A caption above the picture read, “The MJ of our generation is here”.

The post then proceeded to highlight a game between Team USA and Germany, held ahead of the FIBA World Cup. In that game, Edwards scored a whopping 34 points and added 6 rebounds to lead his country to a comeback win. Clip after clip showed the 22-year-old displaying his skills and prowess on the basketball court, leaving his opponents behind in the dust. That’s not all, though.

Edwards was made to stand on the same pedestal as Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, through a collage that was attached at the end. Edwards and the Chicago Bulls star being compared together certainly caught the attention of people. If anything, it led them to recall a viral 2021 meme, which claimed that Edwards was the son of MJ because of their similar playstyle and looks.

The post caught the attention of 4x NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal. He took to Instagram to share it on his story with his 32.1 Million followers. This is not the first time that Shaq has used the site to promote Edwards, and it certainly won’t be the last.

Shaquille O’Neal wasn’t the only one who was impressed by the young prodigy’s performance. Many Instagram users took to the comments section to share their reactions regarding the same.
