Little would’ve Michael Jordan thought his son would land in the same problem he once walked away from. Fans of His Airness would know the infamous incident narrated in The Last Dance where Jordan left his teammates in a hotel room after he saw some of them indulging in substance abuse. But his son Marcus did not share the same judgment, leading to an arrest for alleged possession of dr-gs. But now, just days later, it looks like he’s shifting gears and getting back to business.
The timing couldn’t be better. Marcus recently shared an invitation for an upcoming Jordan Brand event with the bold title “Unbannable.” The invite, featuring the iconic Jumpman logo, declared, “You can’t ban greatness… Join us to experience the greatest sneaker of all time.”
The event, presented by his boutique, Trophy Room, gives attendees an exclusive chance to get their hands on the AJ1 HI 85 sneakers. The Bred/Banned colorway pays homage to the original 1985 Air Jordan 1, staying true to its roots with a near-perfect reconstruction.

It’s important to note that only 10000 pairs of AJ1 Banned will be released in selected US stores. So the fans excited to grab these “Banned” colorway sneakers from Marcus’ store need to mark calendars for February 8 and 9. The venue? Trophy Room store in Orlando.

It seems, however, that fans might have to pre-register for the event as Marcus shared another IG story featuring a long queue outside his store. As per the caption, he has already received 650+ entries while more are being recorded. “Thank you @trophyroomstore family for the support,” he wrote in the caption.
It’s good to see that things are getting back on track for Michael Jordan’s son considering just a few days ago, on February 4, things looked a lot different. Marcus was arrested in Maitland, Florida, facing charges of DUI, possession of cocaine, and resisting arrest. According to US Weekly, police found his Lamborghini SUV stuck on train tracks after what appeared to be an attempt to flee a traffic stop. The report stated, “the tires were halfway buried in the dirt/rocks from being spun repeatedly.”
He was arrested and later released from Orange County Jail the following morning.

Marcus’ arrest has brought back to light Michael Jordan’s encounter with dr*gs
The Last Dance docuseries gave fans an unfiltered look at MJ’s journey. But one story from the first episode still stands out. It wasn’t about a game-winning shot or a championship run—it was about his shocking encounter with dr*gs during his rookie season with the Chicago Bulls.
Jordan himself narrated the moment, taking us back to his rookie preseason, which he believed happened in Peoria, Illinois. Like any young player trying to connect with his teammates, he knocked on a hotel room door, expecting maybe some card games or casual hangouts. Instead, he was met with complete silence at first. And only after announcing himself as “MJ” did the door finally open.

What he saw inside was unlike anything he had ever experienced. “I walk in and practically the whole team was in there. And it was like, things I’ve never seen in my life… as a young kid. You got your lines over here, you got your weed smokers over here,” Mike recalled.
In that split second, reality hit him—if the place got raided, he’d go down with everyone else. His instincts took over, and he walked right out, setting the tone for the disciplined career that would follow. Marcus faces a hiccup in the regard. However, the positive is that he is back focusing on work, seemingly getting life back on track.
