“I do not have any major renovation plans,” John Cooper, who bought Michael Jordan‘ famous Chicago Mansion said. He wants to hold on to the legacy of the house. The huge number 23 on the gate of the house which is a nod to Jordan’s jersey is not going to change. That also means the lavish part of the house, specially made for Jordan’s ex-wife Juanita Vanoy, will also likely stay the same.

To best describe the house, start by imagining the most unimaginable thing and this property might actually have it. A par-three golf hole? Sure! And how about a pond stocked with fish? That’s a yes, too. This property, which stayed on the market for nearly 12 years, had everything luxury outfitted in it.

Another lavish space specially made for his wife is a hair salon. This was revealed by real estate agent Kofi Nartey, who was one of the listing agents for the house. He had the job for 11 months until he switched companies. “The house has its own full-court gym, full training facilities, cigar lounges, and a swimming pool shaped like a basketball hoop. It has its own pond stocked with fish. It has a par-three golf hole. It has a whole hair salon for his wife,” he said in a conversation with Business Insider

And if Cooper is right about keeping the house as it is, chances are that the salon that Vanoy might have used is still intact. “My favorite player to watch was always Jordan. He made shots that seemed impossible, and he got it done on defense too. I do not have any major renovation plans. I will honor the property’s legacy. This place is great just the way it is,” Cooper said.

The property was listed for $29 million in 2012. However, it wasn’t sold until last year. But rather than the original asking price, the Chicago Bulls legend received $9.5 million for it.

What does John Cooper plan to do with the house?

Well, the listing agent, Nartey, believes that he could have helped sell the house for more than $9 million. While it’s a bold claim, there’s no way to find out whether this claim holds true. What can be seen now is how the current owner plans to put the house in good use.

He does have some exciting plans for the house. Cooper has begun offering shares of the house for $1 million. Newly named Champions Point, the house, which can accommodate 20 people, will allow guests to spend a week there.

Moreover, the shareholders will have the opportunity to host personal events such as weddings, sports watch parties, Bar Mitzvahs, family reunions, and other gatherings at an additional cost. There will be many more thrilling and personalized experiences.

Speaking of the endeavor, Cooper said, “Our goal is to create a shared experience where co-owners can enjoy unparalleled amenities and also the sense of connection and community that comes with it.” He noted, “By preserving the property’s original prestige while integrating modern technology, we’re ensuring that Champions Point continues to be a place where extraordinary memories are made for years to come.”

The plan certainly sounds promising! What is your take?
