Chicago-based reporter Amy Jacobson must have woken up on the wrong side of her bed, who was publicly called out by Michael Jordan‘s ex-wife Juanita and his daughter Jasmine, over false news of getting carjacked. This started on June 29 when Jacobson reported that Juanita and Jasmine’s Rolls Royce was carjacked by two men in Chicago, while also tagging TMZ. Juanita replied quickly to Jacobson’s false report with a tweet, calling out the reporter for misinformation. Although Jacobson publicly apologized on ‘X‘, Juanita is not ready to listen to it.
‘X‘s community notes helped the users find out that Jacobson’s report was false. The community note read, “Amy’s entire tweet is false. There is no such report from TMZ of Juanita being carjacked. Furthermore, Juanita and her daughter have taken to social media to refute Amy’s false statements-starting with the fact that Juanita doesn’t live in Chicago.” Juanita shared the above community note on her Instagram to convey the misinformation to her followers.
After Jacobson’s name started to pop all over the internet, she decided to share an apology on X. She tweeted, “I got information from a trusted source that turned out to be wrong. I should have presented it as “what I’m hearing from a reliable source.” That was my mistake. I apologize. I’ll be more careful in the future.” However, this was not enough for the Chicago Bulls legend’s ex-wife.

I got information from a trusted source that turned out to be wrong. I should have presented it as "what I'm hearing from a reliable source." That was my mistake.
I apologize.
I'll be more careful in the future. https://t.co/uhYjwJzDcb— amyjacobson (@amyjacobson) July 1, 2024
Juanita shared Jacobson’s apology on her Instagram and wrote, “I don’t accept this as a personal apology, but wanted to share it with y’all.” Jacobson did not make a mention of Juanita’s name in the tweet, nor did she send a personal message to her. Juanita might be willing to accept an apology only if any of the above happens. On the other hand, daughter Jasmine might never forgive Jacobson for the instance.
What did Jasmine Jordan have to say?
It’s safe to say hell broke loose. Juanita detailed why the news was fake. She shared that she does not live in Chicago and does not drive a Rolls-Royce. The 65-year-old also requested social media not to blindly believe anything they read on the internet.

Jasmine was more fierce than Juanita. She shared the false info on her story two days back, and also wrote, “It’s trash a** “journalists”/media outlets that piss me off. Out here LOUD and WRONG. @560theanswer do better!! Since Amy doesn’t have a page of her own for me to directly address her.”
