When we talk ‘Jesus’, we take a moment to pray, because we rely on his magic. But on the basketball court, there was another “Jesus” who made fans believe in him. Yes, it’s Michael Jordan. Watching him play was nothing short of an out-of-this-world experience. But what if you meet MJ on the street? How would you react? Would you freeze? Well, social media influencer and podcaster Wallace Peeples had that exact experience. But his reaction? One word, unexpected!
Podcasters Gillie and Wallo, fresh off their alleged $100 million deal with Barstool Sports, recently sat down for a special episode of the Club 520 Podcast. The episode was packed with unforgettable stories featuring Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and other basketball legends. But the moment that stole the show? Wallace shared a personal story about meeting MJ on the street. It was such a tale that even his co-host couldn’t believe a word of it.
Wallace started sharing the Michael Jordan story. But from the moment he opened his mouth, the room was already full of doubt. “Oh yeah I ain’t shared about the story when I seen Mike” Wallace began. His co-host leaned out of pure skepticism. Wallace painted the scene, Chicago. A black car pulls up. Out steps Jordan. “I’m like Mike what’s up?” Wallace recalled. According to him, Jordan responded not with words, but with one of his signature hand gestures. Acknowledging the shout-out without breaking stride.

As Wallace spoke, Gillie sat with his hand on his forehead, his body language screaming “No way.” And then he said it out loud, “No, he didn’t.” That was it. The room exploded with laughter. Everyone cracked up except Wallace. So was it a true story or an exaggerated flex? Speaking of flexing, MJ never hesitated to show off his impressive car collection.
Michael Jordan and his car collection legacy
Jordan’s automotive journey began in 1984 when, as a young NBA rookie, he was gifted a Chevrolet Corvette C4 by a local Chicago dealership in exchange for promotional work. This marked the start of his enduring passion for high-end vehicles. In 1989, Jordan acquired a Ferrari 512 Testarossa. This vehicle not only got his appreciation for Italian engineering but also made headlines when he was fined for speeding in it.

The 1990s saw Jordan expanding his collection with a 1996 Mercedes-Benz W140 S600 Coupé. This particular car even made an appearance in the documentary “The Last Dance,” underscoring its significance in his collection. In the early 2000s, Jordan’s garage welcomed a 2001 Aston Martin DB7 Volante. A pure British craftsmanship.

Jordan always has a preference for exclusivity. The big man added a 2010 Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir to his collection. With only 12 units produced, this hypercar stands out for its rarity and engineering excellence. Continuing his tradition of acquiring exceptional vehicles, in 2023, Jordan purchased a Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster. Valued at $3.5 million, this hypercar is among the fastest convertibles globally, capable of reaching speeds up to 300 mph.

While Wallace Peeples’ story about meeting MJ might be up for debate. But one thing is certain, when it comes to cars, Jordan’s legacy is as undeniable as his dominance on the court.
