There was something sensational about Michael Jordan that still sets him apart from the contemporary court marshals. Even after a hectic golfing day, His Airness used to display raw power to defeat his opponents on the basketball court. However, players prefer quite a different lifestyle now. Even when basketball experts debate who is the best player, many forget to consider these points.

This stark reality surfaced in the latest episode of Collin Cowherds Podcast. The host Danny Parkins mentioned the difference between Michael Jordan’s and LeBron James’ off-court lifestyle. Parkins highlighted how Jordan spent most of his time showing pro-level golfing skills and then went on to torch the opponent team with unstoppable shots.

“Congratulations to LeBron for longevity, for spending a million dollars a year on your body, and a wild night out being splitting a $2,000 bottle of red wine. Yeah, Jordan was doing it with 36 holes of golf, 10 Miller lights a run at the blackjack table gambling debt and like sweating out tequila and he was dropping 40 and he was playing every damn night,” Parkins said.

Parkins shared that James on the other hand maintains a quieter version. He emphasized how this one particular point should also be discussed during the heated GOAT debate. He added, “Yes, the skill is better, the competition is better. LeBron, you know, as an underdog, he loses in the finals, he wins whatever I understand LeBron is amazing. I’m not trying to take away from him but I’d like to see the guy play 36 holes of golf and then go drop 45 on the Knicks, I’d like to see it.”

The 6x champion almost had devilish energy when it came to golfing and basketball.

Michael Jordan dropped 52 points to win bet against NHL legend Jeremy Roenick

Jordan’s energy was just an advantage over the competitive spirit he had. Throughout his NBA Finals, Jordan was spotted golfing. And that too on a pro level. Back in the 1992 NBA season, he played 36 holes of golf on the same day when the Chicago Bulls had a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was truly incredible. However, that’s not all. He even made a bet against NHL great Jeremy Roenick, his golfing partner for the day.

MJ made a bet that he would drop atleast 40 points in the game to win over the Cavaliers. During an appearance on “McNeil & Parkins Show,” Roenick recalled how Jordan won the bet by dropping 52 points to win. “He goes, ‘I’ll tell you what. I’ll bet you that we’ll win by 20 points and I have more than 40.’ I’m like, ‘Done.’ Son of a gun goes out and scores 52 and they win by 26 points or something,” Roenick said.
